The I Don't Care if Bonsai is Art, I Just Like the Trees Tread

Lived in S Florida 25 years. Watched Griffin rd. go from two lanes, one in each direction, with no street lights and a canal with no guard rails to what it is today. Moved to NC in 2014. I was a Project Manager/Superintendent for a single family home build. Built many communities in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach

Oh and "I don't care". I enjoy the time spent working as well as reading and watching vids.

What a small world! I live on Davie rd and griffin, behind the methodist church basically. Since last year they have put up condos and only 2 of those nursery are left on the west side of davie rd.

All of griffin is now townhomes as well and they are almost done with condos across from the rodeo grounds....crazy

I don't care...................neither does Bob, he's just glad to be alive after the h.d. Just now waking up..............it's way late this year. Please pardon the guy wires, I put those on last year just to keep basic positioning. It needs a least another season of strong growth before I do any more wiring. Boulevard does NOT like herbicide. One of only two named trees (TP1 named the other), a reminder of an encounter with Bob Hope in 1987 at my first bonsai convention, where I actually gave him a laugh. Full name is.....Bob Hope Dancing..............Dan Robinson named a huge Ponderosa.............Jackie Gleason Dancing. So I kinda followed suit with this one.DSCN2179.JPG

A tree in my local park. I have collected about 50 seeds a few weeks ago, and going to grow some seedlings, why not.

If I'm not wrong it is a Flame Tree, either way the movement on this is something I love to look at when I walk by:

I read about it a and think about it, but generally I don't care about outcome of the discussion. I'm trying to find those few interesting ideas in bunch of crap,

I care about having open eyes and mind, being inspired by nature and trying to do trees I would like to see.

For me I post my best and most artistic tree in my sig so it is always there, it was inspired by the composer John Cage's enigmatic musical masterpiece.
I call my tree "Bonsai: 4 minutes and 2 zero seconds". It's pure art, really makes you think...... oh wait, I don't care either.

Here are some flowers.

Is that a Fuschia? I wondered if they were bonsaiable (made up word). Could we see the whole thing please?

@VAFisher that a persimmon?

Not sure which tree you mean but there aren't any persimmons in there. They are: Water Oak, Red Maple, Pokomoke Crape Myrtle, Trident Maple, Dogwood, Crape Myrtle, Riverflat Hawthorn, Red Maple, Red Maple and Sweetgum forest, Azalea, Water Elm.

It is but it isn't a bonsai or in training, my wife brought it so no chance of chopping away at that one. Although now I may just take a cutting or two, google seems to show they can be done.

All those lovely pines, made me really jealous!
So far I don't have much problem keeping them alive. Once in awhile I do get needle cast on one or two but not a big deal. I think JBP can be grown in many places... Including yours.

I don't really care, I focus on whats really important.
You are so very right!
I have felt such a great disappointment after the nasty progress of the debate....
I have felt sorry of myself for being so stupid as to try fishing pearls from the mud...

The problem here is there are not bonsai nurseries and common nurseries rarely or never import JBP.
Some traders and nurseries import those poor mallsai Ulmus, Ficus with those fat potato-roots, false pepper trees, some Serissa....
Our only source are common nurseries, collecting from nature and buy from abroad.

It's so vivid a colour your moss has, Darlene!
Unfortunately I cannot keep moss thriving in my climate conditions, hot & dry summers :(
I've found that in order to keep miss alive on a tree you need to keep it too wet for the health of the tree.
It also seems that moss doesn't like extreme amounts of fertilizer. It lasts a day afterwords then turns to black sludge.

Art? Im like the honey badger.
I don't give a shit. I just like trees.

I'll buy some from other bonsai people, some from nurseries and I'll dig some up too.

I recognize that last pot... I had Chuck build me this pot in a fairly large size.

Yeah, I didn't know it at the time but I think I got the little brother to yours. Maybe he built them at the same time? I haven't seen him use this glaze in any other pots.
