Mirai tree sale

I love Pommys, im growing out a couple myself. So this wild looking tree caught my eye recently. I would imagine this will be available...
The up n out styling really adds to that natural tree feel....even the wider crown, and tucked in lower branches, we see trees like this in the countryside. Normally we make trees wider from the base up, but this really captures how many trees grow.

Good points! Another thing that I feel Ryan is really good at is using as much of the tree as possible. In that pomegranate example, how many of us would be inclined to chop it back to that first set of branches because there is a straight section above it?

This also allows him to create nice trees in a relatively short period of time. Note that none of the trees in the tree sale were “chopped” to oblivion and then regrown from nothing. Instead, he uses what the tree has to offer at the time he’s working on it.

I actually left the thread mate and the topic came back up...
2 pages in and only one picture relating to the title was posted. Just a lot of cute comments with no substance. If anything ive posted more stuff that relates to the title than anyone else, lol
yeah, mate, the sale isn't for ANOTHER TWO WEEKS. This post was a heads-up for those who might want to take advantage of the sale--and possibly about the trees after they're posted. It wasn't an invitation for you to conduct a seminar on why the sale is a bad bad bad thing, or whatever.

The Eisei En post was also not about you.

I think both were posted as a courtesy for folks who are interested in looking at what might come up, not for a time-worn blindingly obvious nag about "you can do better elsewhere at a landscape nursery"--which is funny, since this thread hasn't posted many pics of what is for sale--one is not a lot.

Even so, you've made both posts about you, for some reason I can't yet fathom--envy?, sour grapes?, what? You're paying money to subscribe to Mirai's feed...a head scratcher...

Back on topic-- You are not posting about the subject in the title here. You are simply hijacking a thread to your own purpose/ego.

Like I said, start your own post on this topic if you want. Pretty please.

What the hell are you going on about now😅

Go and read back my first responses to member posts, this is not about me at all mate, frankly anyone can walk into a nursery!!
Not been a subscriber for a few years.
I love both of these artists trees and regularly take time out to watch their content, you can probably realise that from the amount of times ive shared Ryans videos. But I share a lot of stuff on here that isnt mine so you definitely cant sit there n call me envious when ive openly stated that ive made purchases based on stuff thats inspired me numerous times.

Both posts are relating to the thread, not trying to make anything about me here.

Review this thread and the Eisei En thread, Count your posts as opposed to others...

If you want to share videos share them on your own threads. All I'm asking...

Sure, probably because I was being @ at'd
most of the videos shared are because I was proving a point or backing up my comments with factual evidence, which many were choosing to ignore.

But sure, carry on with your discussion....
looking forwards to seeing some of the Mirai trees posted here....

I hope there's some more affordable and shippable by fedex/ ups trees this time around.

"high-quality collected alpine conifers are pretty much what people are looking for from a sale like this, possibly some superior imported stuff as well, not to mention more advanced trees purchased from capable growers."

If this comment is anything to go by, you're out of luck buddy😁
This is geared towards a whole different demographic by the sounds of it. Fingers crossed for you though;)

I can see myself making one big purchase of a refined juniper for $1,500-$2,000 some day. I can appreciate continuing someone’s legacy. I’m still new and focused on growing and developing to one day refine (and loving it immensely).

I'd like another cork bark jbp to add to my collection so we'll see.

There’s historically only one way to get Mirai trees shipped and that’s via their covered wagons that travel across the US(I believe it’s scheduled for September this year). I’ve not seen any of their trees get sent via FedEx or UPS, but I’ve never seen how they handle their very small/shohin sized trees either.

The only other way they’ve released trees is via private door to door transport, and even so they were hesitant initially. I can absolutely understand the lack of options though, as they want to be very sure the trees arrive safely. I ship ALOT of items through the different carriers and based on the percentage of damaged goods, I wouldn’t trust the handling of a tree by any of the major carriers.

You should shoot them an email and inquire ahead of the sale so you’re able to purchase a tree without that question left hanging.

There's a link on the page below to shipping info email. The page on the link says the covered wagon operates "bi ennially"--every other year:

I thought that the wagon ran west to east twice a year and east to west once a year. a biennial run would line up with nationals though.

I don’t believe that’s true all the time. Ryan has confirmed the covered wagon is coming through this year as well 2 weeks ago(I have 3 large trees going on board) and they ran it last year as well. Bi-ennially is probably the minimum?

Since we havnt moved on from the nursery topic ill play! Ive seen your stuff and its not even in the $30 to $50 ball park, worthwhile nursery material is going to set you back $150 to $300.
Assuming this was meant at my obvious joke, I 100% agree that I dont have anything worth a roll of quarters, and thats fine with me. I was just bringing in some levity as I saw it.

Anyway. Any other trees get posted?

Apart from some of the high quality collected conifers, a lot of the trees worked on the streams are either nursery or field grown stock. That means if one had a few connections, did some research, made some contacts or happened to do a bit of serious nursery crawling or even collecting, you might stumble upon material like that yourself, at much lower rates. Sorry to say this again

Alright alright I’m playing referee , now I’m tired of the digs at BobbyLane it’s an open thread there doesn’t have to be hostility toward his free opinion and still doesn’t take away from the thread either. Chill the f out
