This is an EXCELLENT job wiring, especially for a first attempt. Well done, and stick at it. Don’t forget to check often starting in about 5 weeks! It can bite in quite fast.Wired my first tree!!! Not the prettiest job. But I learned some lessons, and I'll do better
Thank you! I've been trying to find good info on when to remove it.Don’t forget to check often starting in about 5 weeks! It can bite in quite fast.
It should be removed when it appears to be flat on the side contacting the bark, as this means the wire is starting to “bite in”. Really it’s not the wiring biting, but the branch growing into and around the wire. It’s very important to take it off before it grows too far into the wire, or the branch will be scarred for many years. Just keep it an eye on it as the tree starts to grow out.Thank you! Very nice!!!I went ahead and did the necessary root work on the BC I flat topped yesterday. It’s not the thickest tree but I feel the scale works.View attachment 534858View attachment 534859View attachment 534860
Truth be told, my time and cost to get the trees are roughly the same as the time and cost to do the flower bed. The only gain is that I get to play in the mud.Fill it with pre bonsai Bald Cypress...Done!!!!!
I need to get some copper on it for that move, great minds think alike my friend.Very nice!!!
If it were mine I would set the second branch on a more horizontal angle and set the flat a tiny bit lower. I see that natural pattern all the time down here in the swamp.
Now I know where the pot goes
PS: It feels good when you know your friend.
