Been really busy today. Fitbit says 424 zone minutes. Heart monitor says I have SVT and reached 270 bpm not trying.
Got my maples and rose bush covered up, came in and watched the news and predicting 38F. I'm rural so mid 30s. I am not uncovering everything on a weathet forecast.

Thanks @penumbra . Just scrap 2x4s, plywood and some screen.
I was planning on layering that left trunk off in a couple of years. Is that the potential 2nd tree on the left base of the trunk you're referring to?
I suppose then the next branch up needs to go if thats the case.

I removed a little more foliage after that post. Hoping it lives. I have zero maples in pots. They all die. Hoping to break the curse.

Might check your water ph levels.

Enjoyed some sun today after doing the shuffle.

And defoliated and unwired a ficus that was covered in scale. Boooo.

My girlfriend encouraged me to put more of my trees in nice pots and get them out of plastic ones since I signed up to be in a garden tour in July and they should look nice.

Well I wasn't going to repot my quince this year but it was in plastic so I figured I'd set it up in a tokoname training pot and I'm really glad I did that.
....looks like most of the soil fell out of the training pot...

This one also has really bad roots. Growers need to stop leaving plants in their plug trays so long.

Hoping for some growth this year now that it's in a pot with a drain screen and will have soil stay around the roots.

And I made an ugly little root cutting.

Lol attached the photo but forgot to mention that I found my concave cutters that I lost last fall. They were in the bottom of my hiking/yamadori backpack. This is the first bonsai tool I ever bought as a kid and I still love it

Move-in and move-down day! First, awesome BC arrived today! Poor thing is clearly not happy with the temperatures as it headed north, but there's still some optimistic looking bright green foliage, and one 20 gal plant bag, 50 lb bag of pumice and 3 gals of water later, it's settling in:

It's joined alllllllll the rest of my outdoor trees downstairs - I moved the last of them down from the garage today. It's 51 degrees in the garage right now with the sun out, but got down to 34 last night and I don't want to take any chances. Everyone's clustered around the egress window (the best source of light down there) in what my non-bonsai friend called A Tiny Entmoot.

The BC should recover. Let me know if you have any issue.

Hm,... Seems like you ignore your own signs..

That's lounging and not loitering. Feet are off the ground.
Loitering = standing or waiting around idly or without apparent purpose.
Here the purpose is apparent: to enjoy the bonsai trees. I bet the person wasn't idling either. The mind must be full of budding, wiring, etc.

root grafts on my new trident, I’m using old copper canvas/upholstery tacks as the plastic grafting pins are a little finicky for me, hopefully these will be alright.

They sell copper nails to kill trees…. Just saying. I would remove those.
