On the topic of World Health Organization (WHO), their website lays out their mission pretty clearly. In essence, they advance and coordinate health initiatives worldwide through the United Nations system. Take a read to see what they say about themselves. There has been recent criticism of WHO, particularly from the government of Taiwan - in the context of COVID-19, about WHO being dominated by China. No judgment on my part... I honestly don’t know. However, I generally don’t trust the Chinese government.

Stop this scapegoat searching in China and WHO. Goverments who took this serious when the warnings came out are now slowly relaxing their measures and might be over the worst. Those that decided to hide in the sand and say "this will blow over, our country does not need anything special" are still in the middle of it.

China definitely didn't want to admit that this virus is from Wuhan, period! Are you one of those believe that the CIA or US military planted there? Wake up. Am not trying to pin this on anyone but if the WHO can't be independent then why you put the money in it when all it does is repeat the message?
 
So weird that people always believe in conspiracies. I’m a cynic about most things, but people always seem to go to god or corruption for things they don't understand. Awful lot of control freaks out there.

I am yet to read, hear or see a viable reason for anyone, Chinese, American, Martian, whoever to want to cause this. Just a load of blame throwing and scapegoat making.

Right. As far as I can tell, they've been creating flues for decades if not centuries out of simple negligence. Isn't the fowl/swine interface the driving force of new flus? Then add all that wildlife consumption on top of that. Pangolins etc.

AS long as they have the agenda of removing President Trump from office. He has done more to dismantle the drive toward a one world government than anyone in the past 70 years.

I will admit that the talk of conspiracy theories and Trump toppling the “one world government” is very entertaining, considering Trump probably cant spell Government, and has no idea how one even works 🤣🤣🤣
 
In several countries (France, the US, ...) there are studies on genetic factors in the host contributing to COVID-19 infection severity. Genetic factors could explain why a few children died of the virus whereas their population overwhelmingly show only benign symptoms.

Other studies (China, France,...) show that cured patients have antibodies, but they seem to be short-lived in many cases, so a patient that is cured can be re-infected a few weeks later. Not very good news. It means that not only the disease will not "disappear", but there might be a surge in new cases after the lockdown is over. :(

Soon we will get treatments that are verified effective. Later we'll get vaccines. This situation will improve, but we can't get stupid about our response. Be smart! Be patient! Do your best to keep you and your family safe. Listen to Fauci, not Trump. The economy will not recover if we get back to business, and then get sick.

Big difference between "wanting" to cause this, and just being sloppy and letting it loose out of a virology lab in Wuhan. I don't believe that anyone intentionally started this thing. I do believe there was intentional coverup by the Chinese government which has made things far worse that they could have been. If someone would have owned up at the beginning, they could have (in theory) locked down Wuhan and contained it from the start.But instead, doctors and journalists magically disappear.

Blame throwing - yes. If China wants to actually be a world leader, they can't be covering up crap like this that leads to a dramatic loss of life around the world and disrupts the entire world economy. So yeah, that's why they're trying to hide from it and not own up to it. And yes, that's why some are continuing to remind the world who is at fault.

I read this morning that J&J are planning on having 600-800 million doses of vaccines available in early 2021. With the R0 value of this virus, we need to vaccinate about 270 million people in the US to stop community spread. And if anti-body resistance is fleeting, then a vaccine is the only way to stop this.

There are lots of people being hurt economically, and there are likely at least half-solutions that could be in place to open up some portions of the economy. Unfortunately there are lots of people that seemingly don't care about their fellow man and are willing to let millions of people die so they can go back to work. Wear masks in public, limit leaving homes as much as possible, let people that can work from home, actually work from home 100% of the time (a co-worker's family member was recently diagnosed as COVID-19 positive, picked it up from a co-worker that "was feeling sick a couple weeks ago", and continued to go to work. The family member's job could be done 100% from home, but the boss thinks people won't be productive unless they're in the office, so required people to be in the office 3 days a week).

People doing stupid things is why we can't have nice things. And that's why the government has to step in and legislate to the lowest common denominator - which tends to be stupidity. But yeah, the government just wants to take away our freedom... maybe the biggest risk to our freedom chasing safety, but it's the everyday idiot.

Rant over... feeling rather frustrated with a lot of the ignorance running around.

I doubt it. I believe the chinese goverment listens to their experts. People may disagree with their way of doing things. But there is very clear strategy behind it based on knowing how things work and not basing policy and advice on hunches.
