Shut the whole damn country down!

Unfortunately there are lots of people that seemingly don't care about their fellow man and are willing to let millions of people die so they can go back to work.

Yeah, profit before health.
Profit before saving the planet.

Profit for the 1% some like Trump, Bolsonaro, Urban, ... represent.

Peoples deserve their leaders. Let them "pray".

Trump would love to run his presidency exactly the way the Chinese government runs things. Exactly.

Yes he would!!!

But there's still a free press in the US, the press that is libelled "fake" by D.T.

And D.T. is so tiny compared to Xi Jin Ping : such a clown can do what the Chinese leader does, it means that he has at last gained some form of intelligence, a great deal of culture (I'm not sure if D.T. understands the word "culture"), an experience with real people that can make him understand the word "empathy", whatever the color or background of the people.

A democrat or a republican, whatever : when you, my US friends choose your next president, please, don't choose a stupid ignorant racist crook like D.T.

War is always the answer.

Er...

Ain't gonna study war no more 😄

There are many other versions, but I like the metallic sound of the banjo. It reminds me of when I believed the world would change for good.

Now it's a world where...

“There was truth and there was untruth, and if you clung to the truth even against the whole world, you were not mad.”

Seeking for truth : that's what I want. Fraternity, hospitality, everywhere I've been, I found it.

I've never been to America(s) so far, but I know I will meet nice people there 👍

Makes you wonder if funding is attached to the corona label. Probable, eh.

Even without counting probable, even if we cut the current worldwide mortality rate down to 2% instead of 6% (before NY changed counting), we'd still lose 6.5 million Americans. The approximate same number of Jewish people killed in the Holocaust. While there are lots of things that aren't perfectly known, do we really need to experience the horrible outcomes of other places to learn the lesson?

You mean, like Trump does ?...

Not sure why you feel the incessant need to attack Trump. I didn't even bring him up, for good or bad, in my comment.

I don't think he's covering up anything at all. The numbers are there for everyone to see. You just have to see him through the lens of who he is - a constant negotiator. Like it or not (I don't always like it, though it does have a place), he's always negotiating. He says stuff like 'open the economy tomorrow' because he thinks he has to constantly negotiate for everything, and he's trying to anchor the negotiation in his favor. He knew full well when he said that, it wouldn't happen and wasn't possible. It's just how he communicates. Again, those tactics have their place but I don't always agree with his approach.

Profit before health... kind of but it's far more nuanced than that. First - some people really are in an economic problem. My step-dad owns a business that will likely go bankrupt from all of this. Even if the bank defers loan payments, he'd need to get some kind of support for at least a year to make it (the business is very seasonal and really only makes money from May - Sept., and almost all is from people traveling). So I see the dilemma people are facing, and I understand it's daunting. He is FAR away from the 1%, so it is in fact, not a problem the 1% are facing. It's a problem the common man faces. In fact, the 1% will weather this storm just fine.

It's the flat out ignorance that gets me. My guess is a large majority of people complaining about the economy being shut down would consider themselves experts in their own fields. Yet they also won't afford the same respect to people leading healthcare policy responses to this pandemic. Businesses come and go. Lives cannot be replaced.

Finally, I'm a firm believer in the power of prayer. I respect anyone's choice to believe otherwise. But the constant attack on someone else's belief systems is petty and childish. Give it up already and practice the "live and let live" principles you seem to preach.

This guy is more likely to get things done than trump is.FB_IMG_1587022935297.jpg Plus he will tell you everyone lies, especially trump.

No to all of that. Hard to decide where to begin.

Numbers don’t lie. China just announced higher death rates in Wuhan, acknowledging they under counted. You are free to choose whether you believe them or not, but your acceptance or rejection of them won’t change the truth.

It is an opportunity to reflect on what these numbers meant all along with every flu like illness.

How many people get sick, and never get bad enough to see a doctor?

The flow chart turns out to be this...

Mildly symptomatic young adults never see a doctor and never get tested. They are off the grid.

See where the bias already begins?

People are confident about X% death rate based on people who were sick enough to seek medical attention.

And like my sister in law just confirmed, you can be diagnosed over the phone for God's sake.

It's a big farce.

Some encouraging news! Latest data from Gilead (drug company) with small, controlled study saying remdesavir appears to work. Remdesavir was designed as an anti-viral drug. The mechanism of action makes sense for COVID treatment. Down sides - IV delivery, so only useful in a hospital setting. Supply will be an issue for some time if this needs to be ramped up. A larger, multi-site trial is under way.

Well, if your sister in law says it then it must be true!

God I bet it makes the Trump zombies so mad that governors are the real heros here, even if he can dial up a screaming mob on demand 😂😂

So you have no data to back up your claim. You pick the unknown data points (number of asymptomatic cases) that support your case, but then also ignore similar unknown data points (number of deaths not counted). Your logic isn't sound therefore your argument is invalid.

China just released revised mortality numbers based on those that died at home, etc. So there's more data coming out in opposition to your position.

If numbers aren't convincing, then look no further than the actual things happening in Italy, Spain, and New York. Numbers aside, the results speak for themselves. If you choose to not believe those results, then I have a bridge to sell you.
