I don't like yew.

Ed gone style it.
Why not yourself, based on a proposed design by Ed?

My guess is that even if the nebari is not excellent, you should have a very good tree there. However, if it is a wild collect (I think you get yours from trees growing somewhere outside gardens) the nebari will probably be decent, as you are in soft moist soil areas.

Because i build that slab for him and ask not so much for it he wanted to do something in return.

Yeah rootball is nice spread, they ground layer themselves over the year. I better cleared/cut some off the smaller roots above.

Absolutely brilliant! Do these yews just back bud very easily then? I've an ugly yew where the only branches are bar branches on the apex.

Ok, thank you defra. :)

Here is the yew in question. I'm really not sure what to do with it...

Very ugly.

The branches all come from one point so your trunk will get reversed taper from that
Id sugest to keep one branch and remove/jin the rest
Then next year probably some buds will pop lower down on the trunk to work out a design with
Not sure if now is the time to do this tough

Brilliant, thanks! I suppose I best wait for late winter/early spring.
