Fall Colors 2016 - Post 'em up!

T rex begonia. brought inside a few weeks ago. They are described as "non-descript" for flower. They do flower and I think they are pretty damn delicate and nice...

I always love autumn time at work, it's so graceful, then I'll be busy cleaning up leaves in about a month lol

On the farm today we'll see if this forum lets me post ''raw'' photos.
Southwest Michigan has had a number of light frosts, no hard freezes yet. @petegreg - Indian summer is the warm period following the first frost. No frost, no Indian summer.

Witch hazel in bloom, common in my forest understory, blooms as the leaves drop. Note - camera wouldn't focus, but zoom in on upper background and some flowers are in focus.

2nd image - blueberries - 'Blue Crop' turn a nice purple red color, twigs get brownish red. As soon as ground freezes I can start pruning for fruit production. Only have 2800 bushes to do this year, actually can call the job done if I get 1550 done, the others can wait another year. From time ground freezes until end of March. Once flowering starts, got to stay out of the fields and let the bees do their work.

3rd - Staghorn sumac - Rhus typhina - collected from farm in spring 2016, has a lot of growing to do before it becomes bonsai

Many more to come from her garden as well through out the next couple weeks.

That Negundo is awesome Aaron. It's tri-foliate also?

My plant's Autumn colors are a dissapointment so far :(
Vitex did not change color at all. Just dropped about 1/4 of it's leaves while still green. And flowering still. Same with the Hazel Alder behind it.
But the Crepe Myrtle (left) and English Oak (right) is turning at least.

Light rain and high wind took a petal off the Toyo's last show.

Trifoliate when pruned regularly, unrestricted growth will allow each leaf to have up to 7 leaflets. That's one of my favorite trees of her's, collected as a sapling in 1993.

That arakawa is stunning!

Here are a few...we've had some good color but three days of wind and rain (over 3", more than we had all summer) took a toll, so I'm not sure how many other photos ops I'll have.

1) Korean Hornbeam, a friend and I did some work on this during the summer and set it on a new
path. This is roughly the new front. Will need some pruning and wiring in the spring to really set
things in motion. Original thread is here: http://www.bonsainut.com/threads/korean-hornbeam-help-needed.10717/

2) Some Korean Hornbeam leaves (not from the above tree)

3) More Korean Hornbeam, they developed some really nice color this year...

4) Burning bush (euonymus alatus), these always produce the same color. I've been slowly working on the
trunk/branch structure of this one, parts have been allowed to grow wild to build size.

5) Possible virt for the above. I was originally planning on keeping the low left sub-trunk, but don't really
like the way it comes off the main trunk. So it will probably go. This was an attempt to see what the tree
might look like without it. Canopy might need to be a little more compact eventually.

6) Last one, view from my home office window before the wind and rain came through. Working at home
is pretty sweet!

I've tried more water, less water more shade but steady decline. I would love some input from you but don't want to Jack this awesome thread. I'll send you a PM when I have time to tell you the story and what I've do so far.
Thanks!
