BVF 2020-25 Azalea Contest Entry

Spring is here and your azalea could be blooming (depending on your location) or starting to leaf out with this season’s flush……it’s time for updates!

I would also like to add at this time we have 3 prizes to award. Many thanks to @Forsoothe! and @Deep Sea Diver for donating. I am also donating a prize as well.

If you are no longer interested in continuing in the Azalea Contest, please let me know so we can close your thread, thanks.

Did a little work on this yesterday. This was a swap with @Mellow Mullet a couple years ago, and I hadn’t done any work on it so far. It has a nice base starting, but no central leader. I decided on a twin or maybe triple-trunk, and made some branch selection.

Since the largest branch had been wired before, and pruned, it would be a bit fragile to simply wire and bend. So I used rebar and a guy-wire to stand up the main branch into a more vertical trunk.

Finished for now.

Back into more sunlight, heavy feed and we’ll see how the rest of the year goes.

@Brian Van Fleet lol, sorry now I remember seeing your post. So many posts it's hard to keep up.

The left side in your pic looks mixed while the right side looks all white. I think that's going to look pretty cool once it fills in.
