I’m hoping to try a small air layer on it this year to see how it does. This one is a Mr. Maple tree I got in 2022. It’s about 4’ tall now.

From what I understand about that cultivar it’s pretty similar in growth to the species so you should have no problem layering it.

I’ve gotten several trees from Mr. Maple for propagation. Right now space is limited for me, so as much as it pains me I can’t buy anymore trees until I can move. unless I find a new home for some trees

If I remember correctly this is Katsura, it was more beautiful a week ago. A simple ground layer from nursery stock. It has grown my interest in maples after my first one struggled to put out healthy leaves for three years (it did this year for the first time.

This Kiyohime always seems to pop at least 2 weeks before my other JM cultivars.

My Mila has very interesting spring leaves. Burgundy with green veins that turns to a deep hunter/olive green in the summer with red veins. Another Mr. Maple special
