What did you do today? Show us Pic Required

Larch is my next tree to acquire. I have a question regarding your tree. I noticed branch tapering imbalance on the right side. Have you solved the issue? If so, did you thicken the tree overall or use another means?

If you solve it and spice up the line/movement a little, this beauty will be show worthy
You got me pondering 🤔... So I cut back considerably on the thicker upper branch and will let the lower run a couple years 😜 thanks

I really like the idea! Clever. One day, when I have trees in refinement, I’ll use tea bags or a something like what you have.

Question regarding your method of application:

Do you rotate piles throughout the year for even uptake by the roots?

Not sure if my response went through or landed on another thread. I like the concept. Do you rotate fert piles for even uptake?

Went for a hike with the family near Lake Tahoe and the trees were incredible. Every style from windswept to exposed root to cascade. The incredible thing is that this is basically a big granite dome so all of these trees have grown into the cracks and crevices of the mountain.
My wife and kids got tired of me taking pictures of trees but they were so amazing I couldn’t help it. If anyone is up here I highly suggest the echo lake trail, give yourself extra time to drool over trees 😂
Awesome photos - Thanks for sharing!

Future twin trunk. It will take a while.

Volunteered again as docent at our club's display at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens.
68 visitors today, so I talked almost continuously from 10:30 til 3:30 about bonsai.
During my few down times I sheared off the dead blossoms and cut back the cascading Murraya paniculata (Satinwood); also worked on this Cryptomeria 'yatzu' dwarf for the first time since I bought it in May. I still don't know what the Cryptomeria will be when it grows up!

3 weeks ago I finished the deck for this shed with some decision-making help from @19Mateo83 . I ended up going the more difficult way from what he suggested, but only because I didn't want to have the studio any higher than it already is. Deck is 14x12 and the studio is 12x10, it will be a one chair barber shop for the wife.

I'd been apprehensive to take the appropriate action on serverely reducing this korean dwarf Lilac for some time, taking off ill placed branches and chasing back long shoots. After the third or fourth pruning of the season I had the resolve to finally lob it back in a manner that should hopefully facilitate the development of some taper in the future. I elected to leave the largest of the suckers on the possibility it could be separated when it gets repotted, worst case scenario it dies then instead of now and im not really out anything.

While I was shuffling that around I noticed my 'Not Minerva' Quince clump I started this year began developing a new trunk as a sucker, lucky day!
