repotted a mame juniper into a painted tosui (I know pot/jita choice is controversial, but they set a scene).

next will be jin refinement, reapplication of lime sulfur, and live vein treatment

Received my zelkova and JM seedlings from MattO, all the zelkovas were planted in separate rootpouch, and the JM's were planted in a kabudachi style in a large #3 Rootpouch, with a hexagonal tile that I drilled 1/4" holes on it. The last of the JM seedlings was planted by itself with a 1/4" stainless washer. Pics of the zelkovas later, I had to put everything away as it was getting late. I will place some aluminum wire separating the JMs once I move the bag into a plastic pot. This morning I am repotting the big trees... not looking forward to it as I have no space to work on.

My son (contractor) recently built me this deck and a new fence outside and around my work shed that will soon be a woodworking shed. With the scraps I built these two grow benches and a half dozen grow boxes. Still enough left to build another bonsai bench and a few monkey poles. I have about 4 hours in these two grow benches and the grow boxes. Actually done Friday, not today. I will make two more of these benches and some more grow boxes, but I will be needing some 2x4s.

BTW, the legs you will notice have two 2x6 going one way and two the other. With a minimum amount of wood this provides tables that more stable and tend not to rock.

Was wondering if I'm on the right path with my 5 year old maple clumps, 5 seedlings fused together, 1st year in training pot. Would you have trimmed it smaller?

Awesome deck and bench. Doesn't the Wolmanized wood have arsenic in it?????

My teapot is done. I like it. It dribbles, but I had commercially made teapots that did that... at least it's pretty. 20240310_095843.jpg

Well it’s snowing outside . Even this warm winter it’s still winter so none of the cool stuff you all are doing . I’m not a great fan of starting seeds to early inside . But it’s also time I have some . Tropical or let’s say stuff that’s in the house next winter . Of course I have to be a bit different . The tray is 1/2 full of Quercus Virginiana . Live oak . And 1/2 full of European olive . The olive are kind of cool story a friend brought them back . From a trip to Italy thinking of me . They were sourced in southern Italy at one of the oldest . Known plantations of fruit bearing trees . That were planted by the Roman’s .

Scotch pine under development. shifted from Anderson flat to first bonsai pot with the aid of a few gadgets! Repot time 1.5 hours! Lots of compaction, grafting and pad development left to go on this one. lengthy project.IMG_2564.jpeg
