Tackled the BIG juniper. Yes, it was rootbound.

Set it a bit back and a bit lower and by doing that it is a tiny bit taller and less tilted.
Tons of roots. Removed mostly bottom ones and the edges that were crammed against the pot sides.
Some soil close to trunk was quite compacted so I drove a wooden dowel into it for a bit more water access. Maybe not needed but makes me feel better.
Broke a tiedown wire and had to dump and put back the soil and do it again .
ALMOST ran out of wire.
More sturdy plastic pot that is still liftable but far stronger. :)

Left in the HUGE rock. Have to. The tree is big enough to be a sail and the wind can (and does) move the whole thing.

Buddha travels between trees. 🐾

Absolutely had fun assembling these groupings.

Curly Trident in I believe a Bonsai Seeker pot.

Itty-bitty one year seedlings of Korean hornbeam 🥰🥰🥰 on top of an Iron Rock... cute as a bug's ear.

Lastly... a six pine grove... yes.. SIX! I did it with a grin on my face too. I hesitated...and pondered five. But this is my bench. And I love coloring outside the lines. I believe the pot to he possibly Broken Branch Pottery. Rock tossed in because I know someone who would be annoyed by it. And that...makes me smile big. 😁

Thanks to Frank McDermott of Rustling Leaf Bonsai for always offering material that is healthy and shipped to my door. That Iron Rock by the way is absolutely deliciousness in every crevice it offers up to the human eye.

Got this crazy nice korean pot at the Bonsai-a-than. About 19.5 inches long. Not the final pot for this tree, but better than the previous one for sure.

I went to the Bonsai-a-thon too. Here’s some trees from the display area.

lots of stripping, looks like 14/2 mostly. great size for general wiring young developing trees.
I started on a lengthy project to rebuild the branching on an older trident today. First step was to start cuttings for thread grafting and root grafting and thread grafting in the future! here is a picture of the project. Buds are swelling early this year we have had a warm winter generally!IMG_1857.JPG

They are mostly 12/2 wire. Pretty decent for young branches.
