Best of luck with your exams Jelle!Last two days I gave workshops at a bonsai show. Then I drove 300km, to tomorrow and the day after have my final exams as Nippon & Bonsai Germany recognized Bonsai Teacher An 8 year journey, with examination as independent "bonsai styler" in-between and now 2 years more for the teaching part.
Exciting times! Right now reviewing the material. Yes, all ~300 pages.
So yes, if you feel like bringing me over.. Open to interesting ideas

Forgot to mention that I weaved the roots together on purpose. That smooth soil top belies the hopelessly tangled root mass below. I might not be able to remove all that wire when the time comes to remove it.After that last big planting in the swamp, I had some left over. I put them in a 5 gallon bucket, filled alway with water, a couple drops of bifenthrin to prevent mosquitoes, and didn’t touch them for almost 3 weeks. The time is now or they will die.
Today I took them out and wired them all with a 90 deg bend at the base. I planted them as a forest. I know I will have fun removing the wire next year.

I will probably be overwintering it for them when they go to Florida.
People just don't understand. I've tried to explain "water every day in summer" to a number of people and it just doesn't sink in.I'll not be doing this again!

It's possible that it comes back, but not gonna hold my breath. I've bought back worse.
She assured me it would get full Sun, now she tells me it was on a covered porch and not getting Sun.
The back porch was supposed to get more sunlight, but now she said only after 4pm does it get Sun.
It's pretty soggy. A very smart and with it 80 year old, I felt reassured it would be safe...
