Volunteered again on my club's bonsai pavilion at the regional park. I rescued my Satinwood yesterday because the temperature was going to be to low for it outdoors last night.
We had 77 visitors today, so I spoke about bonsai for 6 hours.
A few trees that are still on display there:

Got me an upside down planting pot. I remember them being sold just about everywhere on line about 15 years ago. Looks like now - eBay only...
Inspired by @Cadillactaste.
Maybe I'll plant a curly willows in it next year.

Lovely glaze on that as well! I'm bit uncertain they are frost hardy. That was something I couldn't figure out. So I chose a tropical to prevent a cracking pot.

Super thrilled you've got yourself a pot...with plans of doing an upside-down tree! Truly a fun project!

I completely forgot I still had a few BRT seeds left from @Clicio ,so I'm soaking them. I don't hold out a lot of hope that they'll germinate, being 3 years old, but might as well give it a shot. View attachment 509041
Faith.
We never know, please let me know if they sprout!

After that last big planting in the swamp, I had some left over. I put them in a 5 gallon bucket, filled alway with water, a couple drops of bifenthrin to prevent mosquitoes, and didn’t touch them for almost 3 weeks. The time is now or they will die.

Today I took them out and wired them all with a 90 deg bend at the base. I planted them as a forest. I know I will have fun removing the wire next year.

Nice work
Do you have an estimate of how many BCs you have?

1st cut back on a Catherine Elizabeth JWP today.

Went to a Bonsai display and sale at the Hidden Lake Gardens in SE Michigan today. Bought a nice young Dawn Redwood, saw some great trees from people in the area and put a bid in on a Sara Raynor pot!

Last two days I gave workshops at a bonsai show. Then I drove 300km, to tomorrow and the day after have my final exams as Nippon & Bonsai Germany recognized Bonsai Teacher An 8 year journey, with examination as independent "bonsai styler" in-between and now 2 years more for the teaching part.

Exciting times! Right now reviewing the material. Yes, all ~300 pages.

So yes, if you feel like bringing me over.. Open to interesting ideas

Planted a pine root over statue. I think this one’s a JRP because the needles are rather pokey. I grew it from seed, so I should know for sure. Unfortunately, the label faded to nothingness. The only other possibility is JBP because that’s the only other species I planted at the same time that looks remotely similar.
