Woke up at 5am, drove to Ohare, flew to Kentucky to check out yamadori. Got done early so decided to do a same day flight back at 6pm. On the flight back, started a conversation with someone in Oregon for 2 unstyled trees. Ended up acquiring 6 pieces of raw yamadori and the 2 unstyled trees(wish I took more photos of Kentucky).

I just started to separate air layers from my Coronilla valentina-Scorpion Vetch , layers started back in May, all are well rooted now. Its an evergreen Spring and summer flowering shrub with very fragrant flowers. It has an interesting twisting growth habit with attractive bark, Ive never seen it grown as bonsai so thought Id give it a try!

Visited Schley Bonsai nursery in Deland FL. Jason was awesome and gave us a tour of the nursery and even shared his personal collection with us. Even my non-bonsai loving husband was imschley today.jpgschley today2.jpgpressed. Here's just a couple of the trees there.

I found that my Hinoki burned constantly unless under shade cloth year round.

Here’s an Itoigawa I finished wiring up today.

Gorgeous intriguing tree!
Like you don't want it to end .

Other hinoki do fine for me in our climate, so I'm guessing it's Sun related.

Got all my trees down off the rail
in storm mode just in case while at the Nationals. More behind the house. Last time we went on a trip, well, my pines and hemlocks are still recovering from over watering.

My Hinoki suffered some burn when we hit triple digits with very dry air a few weeks ago. Luckily it wasn't too bad. It normally likes full sun. This is an azalea right after repotting this past spring.

I got to tour the Empire Level/Milwaukee Tool manufacturing facility today. This place manufactures more caution tape than any other facility in North Amerca. They also make squares, levels, and hardhats

Checked my cuttings and replaced soil on two trees that the squirrels messed up trying to hide walnuts.
