Very nice I don’t think it’s a birch . But I have been wrong before I’m married . Where is it from always interested in . Conditions growing environment. Where collected trees come from . Good idea for us to share . May inspire someone’s search area

Nice I suspected a rock crack tree . From the pic of the roots . I often have similar opportunity . A vast amount of Ontario is large outcrops of rock . Creating pockets . Without mountains . It’s some of are best areas . Have you got into expanding a rock pocket . Or just take what you can access in the crackView attachment 474424

Considering how prolific a grower BC is . Have you considered creating a style you would not traditionally see a BC . Semi cascade for example just curiousAmong the BCs I collected last month was this little gem. I think it will be potted in a bonsai pot next year.
