Shohin Japanese Maple [#18]

Well it's looking excellent going into fall. I am hoping I keep leaves in good shape for a good autumn showing. I will try and post an update once it colors up.

Love the pot, @MACH5.

I would have tried to make that lower right branch longer and likely also remove the branch above it that you kept. Would this explain why I'm still struggling to make a nice maple bonsai?

Oso thanks! The thin branch that appears to be immediately above the branch that was removed is actually a back branch. However, I took a look at it again and removed it also! It is even better and simplifies the overall design further. Liked the idea.

Not sure about having kept the lowest one. I think it did prevent your eye from moving up the trunk in one fluid motion. It also looked somewhat repetitive with the thick branch above it.

I don't know if it's the fact that just the Cameo branches that make their way into these photos are more "oooh" to look at than my own trees....

Or the stand.....

Or the further development of the tree....

And I haven't looked back to see if we've talked about it before.....

But something about that pot now..
I really am distracted by.

This tree makes me here the music...
