Shohin bald cypress...

It is really nice tree. I like its leaf colors. To emphasize its colors, I would use violet or crimson pot. I am thinking oval pot will be good. Thanks for sharing this beautiful tree.

Thank you...Victor Harris mentioned a splash of turquoise...violet,or Crimson. This is it's fall colors. It's such a vibrant green during spring and summer, but thank you for your thought process and kind words.

You are welcome. I also love to look at the cypress in the early spring when the short young leaves are emerging with contrasting light and dark background.

I like the 9” oval, it looks like it fits. I love that cypress too it is not your standard upright and I like unusual things, I’m hoping to get a cypress one day. I want to collect one, so hopefully I can find some contacts near me who go collect. Thanks for sharing your tree, it looks awesome.

@JudyB ...the glaze finishes @rockm chose were stunning. I especially liked the drum pot glaze. But I don't think he meant the color, but the pot shape.
I meant the pot and the glaze. I've got my big bc in a Ron Lang pot with a goldish/yellow/greenish black glaze. Those combinations suit the species year round. Here's a bad picture of it.

I would definitely stay away from overly complicated, fussy pots for the species. Specifically, I think the feet on the pots you've chosen are too involved for the tree.basementbonsai.jpg

Thanks...just trying to get a feel for pot sizes to look into purchasing.
This might be just a teeny bit big, but it's too hard to tell with it sitting in the pot in the pot. Can you do a virt with it actually sitting in the pot properly?
