No pictures buuutt... Came home late last night from work, and thought the sky looked weird. Asked my wife whether she had seen it / whether she thought it could be northern lights and she was all.. Nah, you were driving in the wrong direction and it is way to light here. Checking the news this morning.. Northern lights were visible in most the northern half of the Netherlands. lol.

I should have just gone out with a camera again to find some open fields.

Any forecasts for tonight?

It doesn't look like that to the naked eye. I saw a reddish blue blob took a picture, and then I saw it in the photo. Turned 'night sight' on my phone, and then I could really see it. Supposed to be visible again tonight.

I'll have to get a nap so I can stay up late maybe.
I didn't even hear about last night until this morning, and unfortunately North is looking directly across the mountains, and on the other side of those the most densely populated region of the state with gobs of light pollution.😒
Might have to go camping to get a good view 🤔

Here in the Merry Old Land of Oz, it's friggin' unseasonably warm and currently sitting at 86F. It's October! I'm trying to put my gardens to bed. Fortunately, the weather will be going down to seasonable early next week. Woohoo!

It'd be cool if there was an app that alerted you to this sort of stuff.

But there is this.
Thats the site I look at for forecast but I've been lax on it lately.
Had I not listened to local news I'dve had no idea it was happening.

Less chance tonight but fret not. More chances coming as the Sun continues to burp over the next several months.

I saw the northern lights once. But it was over 40 years ago, so I remember that I saw them better than I remember actually seeing them. I definitely want to see them again one day. Maybe @Michigan Tree Murderer wants to show off his collection to a desert dweller some winter day far, far in the future? 😆

Cloudy tonight. I went outside and saw a Stevie Wonder. :)

A week ago, we were forecasted to be at 77° tomorrow.
It wouldn't be a problem if they are finally right about the end of the week. We always need rain.

First frontal passage marking the true beginning of fall is tonight for me.

First frost last night here in NE South Dakota which is a couple of weeks later than normal. We haven't had rain for 6 weeks, maybe longer. Good for harvest season but not for my lawn and trees.
Same problem here. Fire danger across the county is high, but even in summer when we would get a week at a time of 100f days it was still wet enough it never got above medium.

Making for a nice steady transition to fall colors, though. Should get out this weekend to take some pictures.
