My dogwood experiment

My Japanese maple "Osakazuki" is turning super red due to very sunny for the last few days.

I have several "snake bark" maples, among them a dozen or so Acer davidii.

The leaves are quite big though I can see that with proper care like you did with your forest they can reduce well to the overall shape of the design.

The feature we're looking for is that marbled bark (""corce jaspée" in French), but it's hard to make it a focal point with young potted trees...

Yes mine are getting smaller as I get used to how this one grows. I love that bark!

A few of mine. The tridents and rubrums were disappointing this year for some reason but the Japanese maple is nice. The cedar elm is showing some nice yellow and the crapes have been decent.
