OMG! Black Grapes from Italy!!

You might be right there. I didn't thing of this. I was going to cut both off. But as you say I have to think of the scarring :)

Can't wait to appraise things at the weekend! Busy week so far need stress relief!! Ha ha ha ha :0)
dont worry! At the rate these will grow, you have plenty of time to decide what to keep! With Plants like these, sometimes I won't do anything for the first year or more. These are unique and really nice, don't rush it and im sure you will find the design that works for you the most! Good luck, keep us posted

Ok so hacked one of these up and sealed it up with heal & seal. Just hoping it survives found loads of dead wood and boring beetles! :0/ Will be injected Feldstein into the bore holes soon. Do you guys think I was a bit savage here?

The gum on the pic is the heal & seal. Not much bleed from these, the heal & seal forms a thicker gum when it mixes with the sap at the cambium. Hoping these huge wounds dont dry the guy out.

Two treatments of heal & seal so far. Not sure what this stuff is but it seem to promote budding around the wound on the other plants I have used it on maybe contans some plant growth factors /hormones. Nothing on the bottle about this, but if it is anything like the fitness supplement industry, they never state what is actually in the product anyway ha ha ha! Recommend it over PVA glue any time! 20170409_103648.jpg

Chopped the second one now. Normal chop and one that I carved out a bit hoping I cut out too much of any live veins.20170410_155126.jpg2017-04-10 18.11.09.jpg

Here are the cuts. What do you guys think? They are sealed so you cannot see the colour exactly but the centre of this vine is softer darker wood. 20170410_175933.jpg Ate through a fair bit of white wood too.

Here is the heavily carved cut:

Found many places where dead wood interconnected under the cadmium so hollowed some bits out, the surface wood was really dry and soft then a little harder, didnt cut too much of the harder wood in a few mm only:

Do you guys think the top of the tree will survive this?
Appreciated!☺
