Thank you. What method of rooting did you use? Did you root last years growth that overwintered?I cut mine back and they backbudded like crazy and I rooted a few cuttings. But mine were in pots, not the landscape.
Thank you. When you say flush out do you mean after they leaf out/buds break?Cut them back when they flush out in spring. Target branches to create movement.
Yes, In spring they will back bud all over. Some buds might pop up in strategic locations on a branch that you can cut back to. The remaining buds can just be rubbed off. All depends what your end goal is.Thank you. When you say flush out do you mean after they leaf out/buds break?

I just got them from @Pitoon this spring. A squirrel or something broke off a couple of branches. I stuck them in some soil in a 3" pot and covered with a cut off liter soda bottle. I did use rooting hormone. One of the cuttings is forming a flower.Thank you. What method of rooting did you use? Did you root last years growth that overwintered?

Pretty quickly from my experience with the ones I received from @Pitoon. Plus they badbud like crazy and a couple of cuttings I took are about ready to bloom.I now wonder how quick the trunk grows for this species.
Looks like they are ready to bloom again? The second pot was also divided to three today. They are all healthy. The trunks are between 3/8” to 1/2”. The bottom 3” have turn woody.

They look healthy. I bet after the cut back they will flower again before year end.Went to Lowe's to look for plier and found they have single-plant gallon can. I picked up two. They mostly finished blooming.

Am glad I found it at Lowes today. Otherwise, I would have to pay @Cajunrider a visit. That would be a lot more costly.Pretty sure you won't find pliers in the garden section.....
Just like me Namnhi was just plying for a reason to go to Lowes and look for Nippon daisy. I know it took at least two trips before he found it.Pretty sure you won't find pliers in the garden section.....
