I disagree, I don't think this forum is meant as some angry boxing/debate mechanism. I feel it is a place to share ideas about the hobby, minus all the personal attacks.
It is like going to an intensive conducted by someone with many years of experience.
If you choose to pay your fee you partake of that person's knowledge. If you don't wish to go, because you don't feel comfortable with the way that person teaches or his/her style then you don't go. You never go to berate or heckle that person for their beliefs about bonsai. That would just be bad manners and very disrespectful. We all have our own ideas about how we wish to develop our trees. Wasting time on this forum beating one another up about how we each attempt to go about that process is shameful and childish. Is that how we wish to be treated by others? I don't think that is reality. I believe we all want acceptance from our peers. We wish to know if we are on the right track, and if we aren't then we wish to receive guidance, like an older sibling might provide as we grow up. What we should all practice before we post is to read and re-read our words and try to understand the hidden meaning those words will unleash into the discussion. Many times I see a post that presents an ugly tone when one was never intended. Blame it on the medium we use and our rush to share in the discussion. This is not a debate forum, it is a discussion forum, so please respect what it is and treat it accordingly.

Discussions lead often to debates because what works in Texas isn't the same as what works in the northeast.
The thing is the guys on here have been having discussions/debates way before most could even say bonsai and they have the trees to prove it.
I for example am part of an aquarium forum. Any thread that veers off topic is closed. In Art discussions/debates allow creativity to flow. When you feel passionately about your art/ craft/ hobby then you speak passionately. That's how I feel. Thanks

If I contributed all of the vast amount of knowledge I have in my humongous brain it would be way too much for the newer people to bonsai.
It's almost too much for me. Probably kill a lesser mortal.

What's this all about? Sorce buddy, your style is immortal and you will never be f'ed. Fred buddy it seems you are like a porcupine and the forum is like one too, it's hard to fit in because of all the barbs from both sides sticking in your sides, it'll get better. Kudos for sticking out your neck dude, not many people have the courage to do that. Although i think that trying to change bnut is futile, its like f#rting in a ### storm. Almost like working for a big company, don't get sucked into the politics it'll burn you out and take the focus away from where it's supposed to be.
