Kepplers contribution for 2016 on sniping and bickering.

But, really, I talk a lot of shit, but no one dug through my posts ....
It's all here.
People know your history with bonsai and even though you talk a lot of shit you do have great potential.
So you drive a hoop-d and market Viagra.
It's ok cause you can make great trees- if you get busy.
They gave you shit too when you came here too but you showed em what you were about.

I'm honestly not trying to beat up my own collection. I wouldn't still be growing them if I thought I would end up with trash. My own journey is my own- I get you and agree.
I guess what I was trying to get at in a backwards fashion was just to let others know that even with sticks in pots you can still come here and learn without anamosity toward the elders.
I think there are many great teachers here- and many who do not know there own potential.
I think everyone here has guided me and I enjoy learning very much.
I know the cascade I bought from Jason is a worthy piece. I will feel proud when one of my own reaches that level.
Gotcha ;) yes...the accomplishment will be a high for sure. And you are so right. It's ones wanting to add fuel to the fire with not even grasping how the forum works...sees things differently.

I think you were thinking of that other relatively new member, Andrew (from South Africa I think). The one who was involved in the Paris/religion thread. I'm pretty sure he posted some pretty decent looking trees.
Yep you're right.
My memory.....who we talking about?

I can't believe this thread is still going

I found Adair's thread last year
http://www.bonsainut.com/index.php?threads/whats-it-like-to-attend-an-intensive-program.16073/
to be quite informative, and he appeared humble in posting it.
That was a great thread, thanks for posting so I could revisit it.

I'll just leave one additional comment...who was it that was in there almost immediately, mocking and making fun of it? I think he got in there by post 3. As I said earlier...same as it ever was.

It is only the 2nd day of the year and everyone is messed up again as it is the weekend - never have seen so many online here at the same time though - all good

Grimmy

But it says "in the last four hours"...it's changed from showing current online status.

So you see the shit on you committee as a round 6...? Rallying the troops are you? Why include poor Judy? She has only bonsai on her mind...unlike you and the like.
I can also imagine if your attetude was as stunning as your trees....!
My goal is the same as the others waiting in the shadows...we only want to join in into a sort of civilized environment.
Because of the likes of you lot I think its futile actually....I see JohnG has tried the same thing as of as far back as 2008.
Nah you lot has made your minds up...this place belongs to you and you alone.

Glad you spent some time reading my posts!:) I said one little thing to you and you have certainly got yourself in wad over it??? As Brain has said...provide some content, instead of white noise, if you want some respect...as it is, you continue to prove that you are one of those:)

The real problem isn't about me not posting trees. You know it as well as I. The problem is how you treat new people here. I called you out for that, and none of you had the guts or decency to take responsibility for it, or even attempt to discuss it. The fact that you want me to show trees are meerly an attempted deflection.
If I posted a thousand trees and then called you out for treating others unfairly, would it have made any difference....?
BvF. Instead of playing FBI with my thread postings, why don't you use that energy and make use of your virtual status here by trying to make potential newcomers feel welcome, instead of protecting your ivory tower?
Seeking out snippets from different threads and then using them out of context to build a twisted story, seems a bit cowardly and downright desperate...This site lost at least two new contributors that could've benefitted greatly, and who knows contributed well in future. Both started off on good footing but were antagonized, until they retaliated and then devoured by the mob. You and the rest stood by (and most propably joined in)...Point is it was so easy to make a difference but you and your big 6 chose to do nothing.....yet your biggest concern is me not posting trees. Howz that for priorities...? Hiding behind your broomstick calling me a troll....

JonnG...I did not look for your post...I accidentally stumbled on it. Was very impressed that you asked for the same thing i'm asking now as far back as 2008..... Now it seems you've accepted it and even enjoy a nice joining in on the occasional feast...
Yeah you said one thing to me and then disappeared, setting the wrong tone for the thread. If you just had the decency to explain yourself we could've settled it and made a nice thread from it... One wrong thing said has consequences. You didn't care much did you? I bet you would've if you were on the other end...
Yep strong men these bonsai masters...strong indeed !!!

Here is the problem with your posts:

You keep talking about the "masterpieces using their influence to improve the site," but what are YOU doing to improve it? I'm new here, and to bonsai, but in the shot time I've been using this forum, I've only seen you complaining about others. That's not something that a trendsetter does. People who want to start a new era in an art form don't sit around on a forum complaining about a clique that doesn't accept them. They go out and do.

What I've seen from your responses to recent threads is a classic example of the special snowflake. The cryptic, mysterious artiste, determined to unseat the crusty old status quo of conformity.

I don't know whether you have good trees or not. I'm not going to ask you to posts them because I don't give a shit. Your demeanor in theses threads speak loudly enough. You try to claim some kind of artistic, metaphysical high ground, yet resort to goofy personal attacks. It's hypocritical and moreover, it's childish and silly. It's the way I would respond to people when I was a "tortured" know-it-all teenager.

If you actually want to improve the culture you're a part of, skip the forum arguments. Develop your trees and make your practices available to everyone.

If you think you're being cryptic here, it's worth noting that only 6 active members are in the category you keep roasting, calling arrogant, trying to change, and now, wanting to see them, er us, banned. So we are clear, here are just a few images from the people you want to hear less from.
If we bother you this much, then I wonder what your goal is here, cause it must not be producing bonsai like you see above.

Brian,

I came back to this forum recently after a few years off. In that time I have read many threads and posts and let me tell you something here that I have noticed. If I take Smoke's posts that I have read in this time I remember one real cracker on tridents, and not one other stands out for quality of contribution. Now I am by no means a bonsai master, but I know enough to recognise a quality post when I see one. I also accept that he may have made other quality posts in threads I have not read, but I will give you something to think about. Perhaps a few of the old timers on here treat this a little too much like a home and not enough like a school. That's probably ok, but then they should not be too self-righteous about how fantastic they are as for folks who have joined recently, it's actually not that evident. Unless there is something VERY specific I am looking for I never go back into forum histories, so if I'm honest, all I see of Smoke on here is one cracker of a trident post and a whole heap of time and energy spent on BS. If I had missed that trident post my opinion of him and his contribution would be petty negative indeed.

If I compare that to Vance, (and you have used an example of his that I consider bonsai porn . . . I love that tree and I've told him) I'd say a much higher percentage of his posts actually address bonsai although he tends to get pulled in to the other crap too a bit.

Mike Frary....... Hardly any positive contribution to bonsai that I have seen at all in this time.

You ...... In the posts I have read you have not been that active so I have no opinion.

So the point I am trying to make ........ You can have 6000 or 60 posts. It makes no difference as 99% of people coming here will only see the 60 most recent ones. Those are the ones you'll unfortunately be judged on. Don't take offense to it. It's the nature of a forum.

People like Adair and flautist Andrew are posting far more value to beginners and intermediates than Smoke since I've been back. Some folks may not like their style, but, and I stress this, ON THIS FORUM considering what I said in the paragraph above, they are offering much more than the old-timers. That's a message a few folks may not like, but I'm not emotionally attached to this forum and I have no baggage. I only tell what I see. Unfortunately 2+2 = 4, not 3 ....... unless you are Source in which case it equals the square root of pi.

2016......here's to a year of less I'm so good, what do you know, and more sharing of quality bonsai info! And to all you imperial masterpieces (seriously????) just remember that as knowledgable as you may be and as good as your trees may be, on a bonsai forum you are only judged by new people on your last few posts, and that one you are just going to have to suck up and live with. Telling folk how good you are just comes across as arrogance. It's a biyatch, but it's the reality of it.

Cheers,

Andrew
