Japanese Larch Shohin?

I will take as many from you as you care to part with.

You want single trees? You want forest planting material? How about a little of both?
I want to try to bring a bunch. Just have to figure out logistics.

Yes.-----Little ones are fine too, like 12"to 24".

View attachment 73182 Update,
Repotted - it was very root bound in the pot so this root over rock (still in training) will stay this way for the next couple of years. I'll expose more of the root system over time.
Cheers

This is one sweet tree! I know cascade bonsai are tough but you threw in root over rock to make it that much better. Some things to try.

I'm bringing larch from a little under pencil size to maybe 3" trunks. You get first pick then we turn the rest of the club loose to take one if they want one. The rest we can torture to pass the time.

I always have treated J. larch as a much less hardy tree than A. larch, so would worry if I didn't know which it was. Am. larch from what I understand, needs very cold winters, whereas J larch needs protection... Or is this wrong?

Just a quick update on an old friend of yours ;) Upon its arrival here it was put in the shed until Spring and grown out and trimmed up until July as I wanted a lot more branches and felt it needed a lot of ramification. This past Winter it was on the one of the temporary shelves unprotected in that shallow pot(not on the ground). I figured it was acclimated well enough to handle it. I feel they can handle Zone 4 with past experience. Here it is a Winter(1st Day of Spring actually) picture and one I took a few minutes ago for show and tell :)

The last picture....
With the face moon, is amazing.

If setup on purpose, it would be really cool!

Beautiful tree! Can't wait to see those roots!

Thank you Andrew/Sorce............ Sorce - not set up, just the way it came out....had to shoot it quick when the sun peaked out through the clouds and the small camera telephoto lens was at its max...shooting it from the house. I believe its a sun blowing with its hands which one can put bird seed into. I'll try and get a much better photo if the needles hang on long enough

Brother.

I know it wasn't on purpose!
I'd love for you too though, if the needles hold out!

The shaded "moon", the bright sunlit yellow.

It is just Beautiful.

This is the type of things WE need to see to understand our displays!

If we see these things, our displays will be better. I would love for American Bonsai to get to the point where there are no critiques, let's do it right first!

I think these pictures help immensely!

Thank you kindly.
All this doesn't spin my gerbil.....
If it's not a beautiful tree! It is!

Many sincere thanks!

Sorce

Update....this week all wild and woolly. I've attempted to gain more roots on the one side, thus the plastic filled with sphagnum moss and pumice fines.....fingers r crossed.

@ghues what’s the latest? :)
Hey @parhamr, thanks for asking,
It's looking a little disheveled at the moment, with just a few yellow needles hanging on......unfortunately we were away on holidays when it went into its brilliant yellow fall colours. With my intent to try and get morning roots on the one side I will probably leave the "package" on for another full season......but I may take a peak to see how things look. I didn't do any pruning (shortening/shaping ofbranches) this season so it's lost its shape....lots to work with. I also have to figure out a pot.
G.
