SpongeBob first aired when I was four. I started to get into it when I was about six or seven, at which point it became one of my dad’s favorite shows. Those earlier seasons are at the apex of kid-friendly humor, at least for that era of “family” TV programming. I tried watching some of the newer episodes a couple years ago, and I just couldn’t get into it. It seems like it jumped the shark. Then again, maybe it was just a few bad episodes.

Once you become more/as familiar with the new episodes... They become more entertaining.

But you are right, there's a CLEAR, distinct disparity.

The creator passed away, recently.
