My grandmother had one in Sheboygan.. she just put in her porch for the winters.. I really enjoy the foliage...There. Are some pretty cool specimens that you can find.

I definitely only want one or three to play with.. the rest I intend on sharing for educational Tiny Tree purposes!

Soo a couple things... EIGHT of the Carambola seeds germinated.. it took much longer than i expected.. close to 40 days.
Also.. moving on to the 120 cold strat for Ginnala.
The Parkinsonia merely survived in the “medium light section” of my Room.. but are reasonably healthy.. NOW.. so I am moving them to the general population to observe the difference, if any.
The Mystery Seeds that my parents brought from Daytona Beach.. are doing alright. Not really sure WHAT they are.. the look somewhat portulacaria-ish.

Also... I will be selling, and have already taken a couple advance orders, a good majority of my 3-year pom seedlings.. but hey! That WAS the intention.. sooooo THIS time, got an American-grown pom.. last time was Chilean, I think.

I'm going to try that screen thing if/when my seeds sprout. I'm so bad with seeds. I don't have near the success rate with seeds as I do cuttings.

I used to think that too! Then all my cuttings died, and I realized that “success” is not determined by a few leaves alone..

I’m much better at cuttings now... and seeds.. I lost SO many seeds to mold last time ‘round.

But I used to think I was great at cutting propagation... for those few months when my temperate deciduous cuttings APPEARED to be doing well.

Semi-dec/arid/tropicals are a different story... you can throw branches at a turd and they will root.

End of season update for my Acer Rubrum (and two Silvers and a Platenoides.. but MOSTLY Rubrum) “Selects” Some “Tender-Wired”.. Some Screen-trained. (Looks like I’ll have to post one picture at a time)

That last one is a Samara that I took from a yard in Berwyn, IL...

I called it my @sorce -icopter.

Ok... well I decided to make this forest planting from
my native/naturalized 2021 Acer Seedlings... many took a hit from the rabbits, but will survive... also,,. budding noted at "gnaw-wounds" of a certain depth.

I thought they would be ready for me to "Arrange them" Aesthetically. I was not personally happy enough yet with the roots... so we'll go another round with each of them
given breathing room after extensive rootwork.

So here they are, Native/Naturalized (mixed perhaps ) Screen-trained Acer Seedlings for Da'Contest..

Spaced out to grow out.
