Fair price to lease a space for a single field grown tree?

Ladies and Gentleman.

I know @Stillwater from (Brian, Adam, no one! Lol!)

But you know I have no tolerance for morons selling BS or BS ideas to my Nuts.
(Yes, I have noticed he who slipped back in as if I didn't notice, or remember, we allow second chances)

But let me tell you....not to be confused with the Adam who was Brian but not....

@Stillwater is only once removed from me via @Soldano666 ...

I have had private conversations with both of these gentleman, I would, have, and will continue to trust them with my money.

Each has an untarnished word and equally good spirit.

THIS IS NOT THAT THREAD.

I understand our emotions are riled!
Mine especially!

I hold Mr. Stillwater in the same esteem as Mr. Robert Pressler, who has proven again and again a dedication to excellence in this Art that....

Well Mr. Stillwater! Don't mess up!

I say again.

You are Very Welcome here!

Sorry, I paid for a product, I personally didn't do it. My tree was needing pruned back each year the past few years just growing crazy more than normal. He offered the treatment...last year it didn't grow/push as much as it had in the past alarming prior years...but was gorgeous. This year...still dormant. But was impressed at the more controlled growth pattern seen after the treatment. I posted the treatment of what they did after this post...the base of the tree was darkened from the treatment...a bit alarming. But...it hasn't looked that good in years.
You don't need special elixir to do this.

You can stop long extension growth pretty easily with a low Phosphorous fertilizer like 20-10-20. Peters makes one for nurseries called Peat Lite. Started using this idea last season on all my trees after talking with my bonsai nursery friends about fertilizers. They use it in their large watering tanks... Full strength every week. Nice tight growth with no looong shoots. Leaves were also thicker and healthier too.

But it's never been fertilized in the past...the treatment did seem to work for that year...so I am a satisfied customer. It's to last a few years. Though glad you find using that fertilizer works just as well. This process worked for us. I am not complaining.

At first thought I can think how how a nursery field growing service could apply to me as nursery field growing. Here in MN most of my trees won't survive a winter

Cloned is just stoner talk (cannabis industry) term for Propogating.

Interestingly the home cannabis cultivation industry's boom has helped my bonsai hobby. Full spectrum LED's are cheap, mine is in my coldframe which is a grow tent in my attached garage, I dont have any plans of growing weed (I'd rather grow trees) but the marijuana industry has benefited my bonsai. Eventually the convergence will be complete and people will post pictures of their Gorrilla Glue #14 bonsai.

Id do it for the cheap. Maybe 30$ a month. It may be under your perceived cost but sometimes cash flow under cost can make sense, especially if the client is sending over multiple cuttings.

Youre telling me that it will cost you $120/month to take care of the tree when you only check on them every 5 weeks? Sounds like I shouldnt be paying you each month.

You can send that guy my way. Ill ground grow his cuttings for him no problem.

Simply allotment plot for a year cost about 100 euro
I dont think anymore needs to be said!

Three pages and I still haven't finished counting the things that could go wrong.
Lawyers spend years in school figuring out how many ways there are to create liability.

Big NO from here. 🧐

What do you normally add in value to your own trees? I mean.. Your sterter material is roughly free, most off the time. What do you sell your 10 year old trees for? There you have your baseline annual fee. Add a certain service fee to it and you are set to go.

@Stillwater do you have a picture of the tree ?
I’m just curious😁

Unfortunately no, this thread has been necroposted. The original thread was from back in 2018. Not sure how it got drug up from the depths again.

In the long run, after lengthy internal debate, we decided against doing it as a "service" as we could likely count the number of people who could use such a service on one hand. We did however offer to take a few cuttings from the client / tree that started this thread and put them in our field for them free of charge with a liability waiver. They have been in the field for 2 years now and are doing well.
