Well, that was fun.
Is he on this forum? I like him.
... I have not noticed or experienced the "bitchiness" you refer to ...
Look, the guy says he's from "Portland (ish), Oregon," and looks the part in his avatar photo - the "men" down there are often of a rather, let's say, squeamish sort, so be gentle with him or he might cry or have some sort of a meltdown that requires a safe space.
That's a sign of maturity, knowing when to get out. Us children will stay with it till the last drop of blood is spilt. That's why mostly men do this....it's passionate and subjective. Two things men have problems with.......
Anyone remember the song from Captain Kangaroo - "Here comes Suzie snowflake dressed in a snow white gown..." Please!
Had my first love in 1960, started seriously learning bonsai in 1960.Born in ‘60; lived overseas until ‘66; watched the Captain on a B&W TV when we got to the states; drank Tang; don’t remember Suzy.
Zicke, zacke, zicke, zacke,This all sounds like a bar at midnight. They are all drunk and talk about something or nothing and nobody listens or cares. Just like home.

Exactly......I'm gonna call you on this. Empty ad hominem attacks on a stranger? That truly DOES demonstrate the kind of negative behavior we are trying to avoid on the site. If you don't like IDEAS feel free to argue a different POV. But don't attack the person just because you disagree with them.
I agree with the OP that there are times when this site gets a little preachy and/or a little pissy. I always assume that, with a little time, most derailed threads will eventually wind their way back to their subjects/purposes. This site isn't perfect and I don't expect people to be perfect. But at the end of the day the purpose of the site is to advance the art of bonsai - and that includes advancing the bonsai community.
To a bar I presumeSorry I forgot where I was going with this.......
