Does ANYONE really like or appreciate the bitchiness on this site?

That one ruffled a few feathers

I liked your video. The only thing I would suggest is to maybe put some notes on a board behind the camera so you arent looking down to read your notes, or even memorize everything first.

I think the whole gender thing is ridiculous and it is a very slippery slope, if someone can just ignore biology and decide they are a woman and everyone else has to play along you can end up with people taking advantage of that. Ive already seen it in sports, there was a guy that became a woman and then started competing in womens MMA and they were beating the shit out of women. There was a weight lifting competition here in Australia where a guy become a woman and then competed in womens weight lifting and smashed all the women, imagine being a woman and training for years and then some dude with a push-up bra comes in and smashes all the records, its stupid. And if someone can just decide there gender can they also decide their race or age?? can I go from being a white man in my 30s to being a 50 year old asian lady?? can a peadopile just say they identify as a six year old?? Its a slippery slope.

I've taken about every scuba diving coarse there is. We had a dam inspector telling us stories about what he called "bump in the night" He said that's what they called it when you were at the bottom with zero visibility and a fish would bump you and move you several feet, not inches. He also told about standing doing inspections and the bottom would swim out from you. The last thing was seeing the huge fish being removed using a crane. After I heard him speak I never dove the Dams again.

Why are you diving the dams? You a treasure hunter? <-this is a legit question, a good friend of mine does aquatic metal detecting.

OMG!!! Just surfing around BNut, I run across this thread again with this absolute gem of a video! I'm a retired, Board Certified M.D. Shrink with about 35 years in the trenches, just preparing to leave the Philippines after my wife of 20 years drags me over here seven months ago to her homeland so she can have an early retirement on my legitimate-retirement dime, only to have her treat me with such constant hatred, contempt and meltdowns - accompanied by physically threatening tirades out of the blue - that I decide to go back to the States - but with only four suitcases of belongings for the plane ride (out of the contents of a 40' shipping container of accumulated belongings, and #40 1-cubic-meter shipping boxes of "last-minute" belongings she decided we just had to ship because "We just can't live without them... ", ... and of course the financial accounts transferred, and the property we bought together over here - which are, by Philippine Law, in her name alone since I cannot own property over here as foreigner .... this sentence seems to have lost it's thread and relevance amidst all the details ... where was I, ? ...

Yes:

1. Professionally, this guy in the video is soberly and strictly right-on about the science. The whole emphasis these days on gender-confusion nonsense is a mere product of 1. The much broader cultural decline predicted by Kohut and his followers 50+ years ago: that each generation of increasingly narcissistic parents would produce a subsequent generation of more narcissistic offspring; and 2. The politically-motivated take-over of the educational systems and media/social-media milieu in the country/world by a Socialist/Marxist core that seeks to entirely undermine more rational, conservative thought in the youth for their own - ultimately totalitarian political agenda/goals ... and profits.

2. Personally, I am reminded daily of Jack Nicholson's character in the movie, "As Good as it Gets", where he plays a famous writer. One woman asks him how it is that he has such an uncanny ability to write from a woman's point of view in his stories. His answer: "I think of a man ... and I take away reason ... and accountability." Yes. 'Nuff said.

"Does ANYONE really like or appreciate the bitchiness on this site?" ... Not sure. Really couldn't care less. It's a great site!

Sorry if you don't like my post ... well, no ... actually ... not really sorry at all. Not a bit! It's the truth, and I couldn't care less what anyone thinks, being far beyond caring in such experience-based matters. Live my life for 66 years ... and then get back to me ...

So sorry my friend.

We used the Dam for deep water training. In the middle of a channel in the lake normally isn't deep enough. At the dam it is. If the lake is deep elsewhere we would train there. Depends on the lake. They also teach how to inspect a dam in zero visibility.

Regrettably I have also found that there are certain members on Bonsai Nut who are unpleasant bullies and seem generally dreadful people. We've all seen posters whose responses are nasty and downright cruel. Some of them have titles like "masterpiece", but their behavior is anything but masterful. A true master guides the apprentice so that they can master their art. They do it through instruction and critique, not by ripping them a new one because they ask a question.
I know the Like I just placed is one among scores of Likes but wanted to quote this & applaud your thread here!!

Bonsai forums are an amazing outlet hell I'd given-up on forums (so I'd thought) due to the "BS" associated with them (I used to mod a "current events & politics" subforum on a vbulletin forum years back....SMH / bang-head-on-desk) But when I got into bonsai I found forums quickly and, to my delight, since we all shared the same interest - since we weren't debating or anything - the discussions/interaction quality was outstanding, it made(makes!) forums worthwhile for me again. This site is the best (only major one I know of actually..) for general-bonsai discussion, it's the only traditional forum I use and enjoy (I also post to arborism forums for climbing/sawing and they're not as bad as political/cultural forums but nowhere near the level of quality of bonsai forums, while bonsainut is the highest-trafficked board I know there's also /r/bonsai which is equally good discourse IMO just not as far-ranging & populated because of the nature of its format)

We're all in love with the same art, and have enough love/passion for it that we're going online/signing-up/communicating here, sure a hit&run poster with 3 posts in 3 subforums that all ask the same banal question may deserve a bit of an eye-roll but, generally speaking, we're communicating with fellow bonsai enthusiasts so there's nothing to disagree about / have animosity about, if someone's posting-style is improper there are ways to constructively tell them (instead of the OP's described "bitchiness", which sadly I have seen although the incidents are a small #), I think that a positive overall tone engenders better actual bonsai-discussion & learning so it's in everyone's best interest to treat each other with courtesy & respect at least insofar as routine discussion (I've yet to venture to the non-bonsai subforum here so am unsure if that's a bit "wild", just thinking of that I'd wager that if it were a 'no rules' setup then toxicity could 'leach' but I'm doubting that's the case....curiosity piqued enough to go check out the non-bonsai subforum here now though ;D )

@Gsquared i just saw this thread and was wondering do u still feel the same now as you did 2 years ago in your original post?
