BONSAI SPRING FESTIVAL, WASHINGTON, DC MAY 10-12, 2024

Sharing a big ol' set of photos from my visit on Saturday: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1fhGnTJExwqWFTxvRWCVI7q0rEwSuFYfh?usp=sharing. Most of the trees on display are in there. Just toggle grid layout to view as thumbnails.

Amazing how much is lost when you view these 2D, but what can you do? Obviously an incredible collection of bonsai -- inspiring to see so many people walking around in awe. No surprise that Penelope and Goshin were the highlights for me. 😵‍💫

Great to see you if briefly Jelle! Wished I had more time to chat but they had me on the clock

Also good to see and meet some BNuts for the first time.
Sorry I had to run out during your demo.
I have a good half an hour of you discussing the maple. If the sound is good enough I might edit it into a separate video, and let you judge whether it should be released.

I was about to compliment your shirt when you turned and walked toward another exhibit.
We got stuck in traffic on the way up so we had to make the time count. The museum closes so early. What were you wearing?

So this just came online:
Amazing video and coverage of the event Jelle! Do you live in the states or did you come over just for the event?

Would have loved to meet you and talk all things bonsai! That Kingsville Boxwood belonged to my friend Alex, an amazing tree…

Do you live in the states
I live in Germany!

I live in Germany!

Of course you do, I remember you talking about living abroad on your YouTube channel, I was thinking you’d moved or something.

Hope you had fun over here in the states!

Thx.

Happened to see Walter Pall at the Bonsai Museum in the arboretum today… was a lovely day and the trees are so much better than the last time I was here, decades ago. Did not see Goshen out, thought it resided here.
I would love to meet Walter Pall, didn’t even know he was in the states…
