You just illustrated my point. I was not being sarcastic either. Very difficult to convey emotion or intent in a few words and they can often be taken out of context.

Thank you Vance for owning it. A hard thing to do, and too little of it going around these days. Everyone makes mistakes, it's how you deal with your own (not others) that makes you the person you are.

How about this- make it real simple!
2 categories: conifer, and non-con!
Set a price limit
Post a pic when you bought it with the receipt
Post a pic when you are "done"
Enter one category or both... Your choice
No different experience categories, no rules on what you can and can't use to style... Just leave it in the same pot (cut the plastic bucket down a bit if you wish...)

I did not feel there was a dramatic difference in what the veterans produced vs the newbs in the last challenge and I feel the amount of time you spent doing bonsai is less important than how you spent you time!
Just my input. I am going to TRY to participate this time around regardless, but with two kids and a job, time to really work a tree hard is not always there...

A mistake was made and apology given. Further name calling and continuing negativity is not going to help inspire Vin to carry on. Lots of us had fun with the last one , I'd like to see it continue.

Did you to get a PM from Vin specifically saying he wasnt doing it? Reading through again, I was under the impression that Vin was willing to hand it over if Vance wanted it but it wasnt a definite thing.
Regardless, Vin does not appear to have been back since that post so it isnt looking like this thing is still happening.

I have apologized to him (Vin) privately and publicly. I have apologize to this forum publicly. There is nothing more I can do, unless you would like me to open a vein. Perhaps you would like to send out a linch mob? The likely hood is there that the more I say the worse it might get. So maybe if you stop stoking the embers this will come off.

Yes, I was in contact with Vin via messaging though FB. Asking since he hadn't responded to the thread for awhile...our conversation took place before the apology. So...let's just wait a bit...See where it goes.
I would imagine our behavior in the thread will weigh a lot on the outcome of if this contest continues...
