been a couple years since i got into the hobby
i have plans to prop and train small bonsai
now that i know what i like to grow (fig, citrus, maples, hibiscus, ficus)

sold my first plants to get feet wet (i have a lot of craigslist/sales experience)

sold 2 desert roses and one of my small hibiscus for $60 on sunday (lowered price from $40 to $25 each for them)
they offered to buy my amberglow redwood but i couldnt let it go, its more for my garden
got an inquiry on figs today even though time of year isnt ideal for them i disclosed
, not bad hits in 2ish days on the figs

going to sell these as extras from my hobby for awhile (instead of wasting or throwing out pruned cuttings, uncle sam)
and look into etsy, here, elsewhere in the future as Rainwater Bonsai, LLC. as inventory, quality, increases
(i only use rainwater for all my plants)
as much as i despise taxes, i respect the power of those hacks, and will register to have ten cents of my dollar
squandered to them in the future. they will also get 30% of the net difference after the .1 sales tax. pfff

have a good day (la beast)

Thanks for sharing your experience. Currently have one of my trees on FB Auctions, excited to see how it goes

Great start so far! I'm interested to hear how this goes. While I don't think I'll be starting a full-time nursery anytime soon, I would like to sell some stuff that was grown/propagated myself. I plan to do about a dozen air layers next year and then let them grow a year in their own pots before selling in 2023.

wondering if i should open that channel (marketing) in the future. seems like a popular source

fb auctions
etsy
craigslist (i have been at it awhile, not with plants)
BN (here)
ebay
amazon

lots to think about, but i have time. im like 2 years into hobby and trying to forward think on quality inventory x 100
and i enjoy/want to deal with smaller plants sold in the $20-$40 range

will take about 5 years i believe for the quality to match the pricepoint
