help with a big mistake in my bonsai

I don't think it is a huge mistake. People trunk chop knowing it is a long process for the tree to heal (years sometimes) Leave the tree alone for awhile and do not do anything with the other branches for now. See what kind of rebudding you get during the next growing season to give you some...

    Air Layer Aftercare

Looks ready to cut and repot. I have done straight pumice on air layers and it works well. I do not think it will need shade. I would keep it where it is for now. Do not forget to put cut paste on the mother plant. Nice job.

    Show me your shade structures

Temporary shade structure. After I got things tied down well it withstood about 60mph wind bursts. Bought my shade screens..10x12 at Harbor Freight. Durable screen....3 seasons 110f in summer. Simple conduit pipe. Nothing spectacular to look at but does the job.

    Bonsai trailer

I told you we have big plans for your rig. I think they would. Maybe not do folding shelves on the bottom shelf and make it wider for your big ones.

    This is Lovely

I did some modifications on the shade structure. Hung bricks on the poles. A bit safer than trying to hold it down myself during the storms! ☹⚡⚡⚡ Beautiful rain here right now! No winds.

Did not want to start a new thread but I thought I would post this here since many of our bonsai garden visitors are of the feathered variety. https://www.inquirer.com/science/climate/songbirds-dead-mystery-disease-pennsylvania-20210701.html

Thanks but it is more about the freedom it brought than the war we fought. Won a couple in your neck of the woods as well.

What have you learned from "doing bonsai"??

I learned how fortunate I was to have taken up bonsai pre Covid. Trees really gave me something to occupy my time with.

    Indoor Beginner

Hi welcome to Bnut. Hate to burst your bubble but none of those trees will survive indoors for very long if at all. Sellers say things like "can be grown indoors" to sell their products but in reality they have no chance of thriving. You could start the seeds indoors but bonsai need to be...
