Just got this at a garden center.
Very cheap and seems to be an aged tree, around 7-10 years.
Want to make it into a very tropical style, thin trunk with a small but dense canopy.

One of my favorite species in my collection, the flaky bark is awesome!

These are near indestructible, and you living in the home land of the species should have no problems!

with a small but dense canopy.
For me, a more open style works better on the species. Also, if when you get fruits, they will be better visible perhaps?

These gardens are crazy these days, I was just cleaning the first layer of soil to get rid of weeds and so on...
And then...
Holy shit, I just discovered that the root ball is buried in a clay layer as hard as a f rock, repoted it.
Didn't do any trimming but definitely touched the roots, it was so hard I had to smash gently the roots, hopefully it will recover during summer, we are in mid spring, so definitely will have time to shine.

Will need to buy more soil tomorrow though, had just enough

I've never seen something like that, it was so dried that it lift a dust cloud.

Removed all old leafs, most were damaged by some degree, new leefs are fine...
Did some wiring to experiment and start thinking about the styling, the repot was definitely felt by the tree.
I will wait the new foliage to see how it's going aesthetically wise.
