Your "Last Tree of the Year" 2016 Thread

Last three trees for the year are collected Tamarind seedlings - collected an hour ago. They still
have to be repotted. The guy at the parking square, said " sure pull up as many as you want from
under the tree."

Will show when they are potted.

These are the New Year trees.
Happy New Year All !!

Looks like many good and exciting projects for 2017!! Happy New Year to all!

My last tree purchase of 2016 is this medium sized Japanese beech from Julian Adams that I bought at the Winter Silhouette Bonsai Expo in NC.

....which I may turn it into a raft style.

My last purchase of the year was a Beech tree(Fagus sylvatica) that arrived late dec, ive so far done some selective pruning and a little carving on it, it just needs the ramification built up over time, hope to get a lot more buds popping closer to the trunk this season..

these i bought last week, a bunch of zelkova, one i will attempt a broom, so chop and airlayer, i also have this idea in my head for a clump, based on a real one i sometimes visit at a workplace.
one of these is already in that style but the base is not good so i will try to seperate them as i want to use these trees, not sure yet what i will do with all the smaller ones. maybe small forest or so

The last tree of the year for me was this Torvesa Flowering Quince. It's a contorted type, with very mean thorns. This is not its final form. It suckers like crazy, and seems to be an aggressive grower. It is full of flower buds right now, with one near the top on the right about to open.

20170102_092508.jpg Here's my last of the year, a slanting battered rosemary. It probably looks like a snack for @JudyB tree! I was happy to pick this up for six bucks, now when I prune I can add it to a marinade! Haha, man I suck with "smart phones"! Here is the lamb to the slaughter

Heh heh.... I wonder how many people reading this thread own a pot that's been photographed on that box:D. It's a killer pot and will make an outstanding pairing with the old hornbeam.... sweet!

I wonder how many pots I have that have been on that box... The other side not pictured of the pot doesn't have any marks, so it's really nice, enough patina to make it perfect.
