The ficus on the right is a recent acquisition that I picked up from Jim Smith's son in Vero Beach FL. If you know tropical bonsai, you may have heard of Jim Smith as a renowned bonsai master who specialized in tropicals. He passed away a year or so ago and I was thrilled to be able to nab a tree from his pre-bonsai stock for future styling/work.

Indeed, that is royalty provenance for tropical bonsai. Glad you were able to pick that up.

I picked up this Flowering Dogwood on New Years eve, had been blown over and snapped by the huge winds we've been having the last couple of weeks so it was reduced by 75%. Thinking of chopping the left single trunk to just below the bulge and maybe reducing the right to a single trunk instead of the double but I need to do some research first
