My Son got me some new trimmers for spring.

These look like they’d be great for repetitive cuttings task where you need your hands free, like decandling or leaf cutting

I was reading through Hagedorn’s blog backlog again, and saw a familiar tree.


I’m happy to say that this tree is now in my collection. Today, I removed a bit of wire, and replaced it, as well as a bit of touch up wiring. Didn’t get after the work, but here’s some befores.

Finally threw out this practice “youngadori” doug fir that didn’t make it…because I need the pumice in the pot.

They say when you lose a tree, you’ve gained a pot. And if you lose it fast enough, you don’t even have to wash the pumice before using it again!

Roots never seem to really establish, but I knew this tree was questionable while digging it. The other picture has a glimpse of it, bright red needles and fully dead 😵
