Today I ate some persimmons (Diospyros virginiana) and planted the seeds. They're early this year.
Some of last year's seeds grew very well, but only four of them, so I figured I'd try again for more.

Finally threw out this practice “youngadori” doug fir that didn’t make it…because I need the pumice in the pot.
They say when you lose a tree, you’ve gained a pot. And if you lose it fast enough, you don’t even have to wash the pumice before using it again!
Roots never seem to really establish, but I knew this tree was questionable while digging it. The other picture has a glimpse of it, bright red needles and fully dead
