Thanks. I can't find what thread of mine I used to show my 1st one. It died some point after a fall branch selection/removal and some wiring. Adair thought it got Sun burnt from opening it up some. So please go slow in reduction. I really felt I had taken it slow enough. Good luck on getting a good graft buying sight unseen.

Do you know the cultivar or have a thread for this one?
Unfortunately the root system is inadequate, so watering is really going to need a crucial balance of not too wet or dry.
Would be difficult to secure to pot, so be mindful of breezy days.
No sir I don't know the cultivar. I just got it last Thursday the 7th, and I didn't cut any roots once I saw what was going on. I bought it on whim online (Etsy) sight unseen, after asking the seller a few questions about the graft etc. The soil it was in, was some thick Buford, GA clay and it took me over an hour to get all of it off. I wired it down on the front and back and it's really solid in the pot. Not real happy about the purchase, but I'm trying to make some lemonade, out of this one. :) I won't touch it again this year I just wanted to get it out of the clay ball it came in. And I appreciate all the advice I can get so fire away.

Picture tax.

For trees with weak root systems like above, it can be helpful to wire a loop over a high branch to the pot. I often do this with air layers.

Speaking of airlyaers, my picture tax…I sawed off a failed airlayer and found a huge amount of callous but no roots!

Glad you got it snugged in.

I have a similar JWP going on here in a 3g can. Was going to repot it tomorrow but 20F overnight low in the forecast Tue. night so I'm gonna wait it out. Yours has a better graft.

Thanks I appreciate it. :) Yeah I'll be dragging all my repots and everything leafing out way early in the garage Friday or Sat night. BTW were did you get yours? Funny you should say that about the graft, the seller told me I wouldn't see it at all and it was the first thing I saw when receiving it. @Rivers's Edge calmed me down in another thread about the graft.

Can't hurt. I'll try that in the morning. Thanks. :)

Yikes Frank thought we were friends . I have bad memories of titanium and screws rare bad experience from my snowmobile racing days . I would like to see the lift table . Thinking of building buying something but I’m cheap
Lift table purchased from Harbour Freight, adapted with larger wheels for use outdoors. Overall cost roughly $300 CAD. Lift capacity 1500lbs. IMG_1605.JPG

We had our first meeting for the newly formed Milwaukee Bonsai Society social media team tonight. If you're in Southeastern Wisconsin or are just interested in what we do in Milwaukee check us out! https://www.instagram.com/milwaukeebonsaisociety?igsh=MXd2c2JwZ2twbGF3Nw==

BTW were did you get yours?
It's an Acto Goyo. This one came from Conifer Kingdom last year.
The 1st one I got was from Plant City Bonsai and was a much more full tree with a picked over graft (to be nice).
