I repotted a couple more trees, today using root pouches. I was a little worried about root stability on a pouch given the lack of tie down locations, but the stability after chopsticking thoroughly is much greater than I anticipated. This is a skill not to be underrated, it seems!

This is a seiju from Evergreen Gardenworks. Out of a 1 gallon nursery pot, into a folded down 2 gallon bag.

The japanese black pine in particular is quite a nice specimen. Just needs to be cleaned up.

Thread tax. Today I learned that if you bend the trunk of a small TBF it'll grow limbs and sprout aerial roots.

Acer Palmatum ( corkbark) #58 Part Two Kokufu Ten Love the pot colour and glaze. complements the rough bark nicely. Found one in a smaller size oval in Tokoname.

admiring my mugo pine today, a little snow for a really warm winter. I see this tree being a semi cascade bunjin style tree, I recently tied it to my handrail of my porch and have been enjoying the view looking up at it like it’s growing off a cliff, happy Presidents’ Day ya nuts

As long as all your runners and small branches are not brittle and dry, you should be okay and will pop this spring.

Not just today, I have been a busy little boy. I’m 135 gal of soil and about 550 trees into repotting. I’m about 2/3 done. Here’s a pic of the bald cypress that I’m experimenting with. Oh yeah I had to build a 4th bench yesterday. I’m officially out of room.

Finally got around to taking these seeds I ordered out of the fridge and starting their respective soaks. The weigela seeds are straight to dirt and need light to germinate so, I put together the little green house kit I picked up cuz it came with an LED light. also my son found this little group of lithops at a little local shop that he called "the pot full of colourful butts".
