The second to last faller!

30 degree F which is just below freezing or 0 C.

50 degree day time temps, sweater weather in zone 6. For us. Big woolen jacket if you are here from California zone 12! And Naked if you are from Hgh Maine, or Canada!

I am amazed at this root growth.
Usually by this time, in regular pots, everything is just black mush coming out of a drainage hole.

(Says volumes of Colanders, and air exchange. )

Not so much strong fresh toe growth!
Na'mean?

Air Pedi!
20151107_082807.jpg

@GGB can I get my toes did?

Lol.

Amazed because it's near dormant, ragged, and looks like this!20151107_085119.jpg
Near leafless, and bound up for a natural vase look.

It sucks when you have to resave all of your bonsai words.
Example. Nebari embargo
Badass Hadassah. Wtf?
Leafless leaflets
M.fearful.
Sickroot
Caddilactaste cardiologist
Smoke Poo sucker.. yeah I don't know!

Lol.

Happy Fall! ER.

Hi, I live in the North East of England. I used an excercise ball for the initial shape and it is made with wire mesh and tile adhesive.

Sorce;

To solve your problem with "fallers"; couldn't you use some hydraulic cement to attach some wire loops to the ledge? Then you could wire the pots to the ledge so the won't fall?

I probably could!
But I don't have access to hydraulic cement free anymore!

I did tie the bad ones back to the window lip. That was the last faller!

Thank you very much for thinking with me! I greatly appreciate it!

Kindly,

won't fall?

Damn. Rather than go ahead and retrace all the fallers, the second to last yadayada

Here is another!

These POT MATERIALS, like cats, land right side up!
Bad thing, this one was holding back my brittle Hokkaido, if that went, still in nursery pot, it would have sucked!

20151118_050823.jpg

Little lost soil, No worse for wear.

20151118_050837.jpg

These Buckthorn sure do keep leaves green long. "Dishes are done man!"

20151118_051208.jpg
Little 8822 topper soil.

Bumpin with a note....cause folks are still looking for colander material that's inexpensive and lasts......

Link.....
http://www.industrialnetting.com/

Item number...
XV1347

So....I grew herbs in these chili stained ones....I used seed starting mix....and perlite....with a drainage layer of the sifted cement rocks on The bottom.
90% of the roots were in the bottom drainage layer.....

Just saying.....Fuck dirt!

Well I am just saving money left and right because of you! Lol

As In I just ordered a bag of Napa oil dry to see how well it works, per your suggestion. At $7 a bag of pure DE its considerably less than japanese soils.

Thanks! Please let me know how your material purchase goes....for a note...my wife freaked out cuz they don't tell you how much it is at first.....it's a wholesale process if you aren't familiar....no need for alarm! Like a +- $15 is all. Mine ended up cheaper then I was quoted.

Sift that DE safely and use it straight!

Cheers JoeR. I wanna see this stuff at work!

Maybe you'll find this useful

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypertufa

or this some bonsai guys doin it here for years, self hobby made
11-19.png 11-20.png

Step between is to wrap these in paper from outside, put a layer of stuff inside, remove paper and then put stuff from outside
maybe couple layers needed. Stuff is builders material that you put between tiles in bathroom or on terrace (frost resistance). Add some dye for different colors. Shapes? Your imagination is limit. Don't forget on drainage holes!
Lot of additives to put in stuff(don't know English word for it), for improving outside looks and physical characteristics for exemple water, temp resistance but increase in $$ also.

The mesh is superb. I have ideas to use it like you do but with a twist or 2. I'm thinking of making grow boxes like Vance's but out of something other than wood. My son in law is building a deck out of composite boards. I'm thinking of using that for the frame and the mesh for sides and bottom.
Also just cutting the bottom off of a 5 gallon bucket leaving enough lip to attach the mesh to. Bore about 50 1/8" holes in the bottom of the bucket. Forever colanders are what I have in mind.

The box sounds excellent.....
I was hoping you could contruct as least one big box.

Here is what I envision as easiest for you to maintain all the collected trees.
Size and spacing would vary of course.

And of course you would have to purchase more material.

Winter mulching between would be easy.
Mobile.
Easy slip potting to another basket for quarantine would be harmless.

Hell you could put casters on one side.

Dead unfortunately... :(
A lot of damage in my tropical this year as they are in a room which is too cold and there is not much I can do about.
The only one which seems to like that is my serissa which has never been so 'not a pain in the ass' :)
