lovely juniper

now that I’m pretty sure it’s going to be good to go, here’s a Chinese elm I ended up repotting last week for various reasons which seems to have panned out in my favor. Needs more than just clip and grow right now I think, but I’m leaving it alone for awhile.

Ippinaki pot.

Whoopsies! I'm splitting time between two houses during an extended move. I forgot to arrange for this one to get watered during my last stint at the other house. I thought it was going to hold onto most of its foliage anyway, but it has decided to give it all up :( The growth sheaths are starting to shed and the new baby leafs look fine so I'm reasonably sure it will can survive. It's got an extra month of indoors to get through at the new house before it's safe to move outside again though.

It's been in this pot for 3 years now. I was going to repot it back into this pot after I finish the move but, given the stress it's under, I think it might be better to pot it up and let it run for a few years. I lost 2 recent cuttings from this tree as part of the moving process already. I only have one small cutting left. I'd hate to lose this tree entirely :(

I have a "Too Little". I have a couple of cuttings and could start some for you this spring, if you want.

Thanks @Carol 83, you're very kind :D But this one has a bit of history with me now...

It's definitely still alive. I only worry about it since I don't have a light setup in the new house yet...or as nice of an exposure during winter. It moves permanently next weekend. It will need to make it a month or more longer inside there that it would have had to do here. I do have a small cutting that is doing very well also.

Here's a picture of it just before it came inside for the winter:

I gave the Korean hornbeam that @JudyB sold me last year a new apex, a once over, and a little wire. I need to deal with the roots big time.

I firget if these can be layered or not but it might be a candidate to deal with the taper at the base….

Did a revision in the beautyberry but the edit time has passed, those trunks needed to get more upright. I’m interested to see what’s under the soil, if you cock the picture to the left it’s pretty interesting too…
