I absolutely do. We were 10, 8 and 4years old when my parents bought the restaurant form my grandparents. They worked their asses off and didn't dare take a vacation for 5 years and only in February when it was slow. But it was certainly not the optimal way to raise a family. Luckily, things were simpler back then and it was a very small town, so we couldn't get into too much trouble. Mostly roamed the pasture and rock quarry, fished and rode our bikes. We had cats, dogs, cows and I had a couple of horses to keep me occupied. My husband was the baby of 9 kids on a dairy farm, never allowed to participate in sports because he had to work on the farm. So we always made sure we encouraged our kids in their interests and never missed a baseball, softball, volleyball game of theirs. Tried to do better for them.
 
Not sure what cheddar biscuits are but I like the look of them, and the pork too.

For us a biscuit is more like a cookie.

Anyway going to be making tandoori chicken later today so they can marinade overnight and be used in a couple of curries tomorrow night.

That is a “Down-Home” breakfast staple in the American South. Quite popular in the north, as well.

It’s good.. but SOOO rich/filling/fattening, some places serve sausage PATTIES on the biscuits, then SMOTHER them with Sausage GRAVY... they come in full orders or half-orders..

This dry, buttery, crumbly “American biscuit” is most commonly affiliated with breakfast... like Meat, cheese and egg on a Biscuit.. breakfast sandwich.. Like McDonalds. 🤦🏽‍♂️

The restaurant my parents owned when I was young had biscuits and gravy. I've seen so much of it, I absolutely hate it. The cheddar biscuits are lighter, have cheese in them and are brushed with garlic butter. No gravy required!
