Well, it puts a dent in budget, but I suppose I'll live.WooHooo!
Up to almost 10 inches this morning, and still coming.

How come? How does this affect ones budget?Well, it puts a dent in budget, but I suppose I'll live.
I would assume that he's not getting a paycheck for missed days. That's what happens when we miss work due to weather at my job.How come? How does this affect ones budget?
The vast majority of work in the US is still paid by the hour. I'd render a guess that less than 40% of jobs pay salary, and that includes the ones that are technically listed as hourly but have a set guaranteed schedule so effectively pay salary. How come? How does this affect ones budget?
ohw wow.The vast majority of work in the US is still paid by the hour. I'd render a guess that less than 40% of jobs pay salary, and that includes the ones that are technically listed as hourly but have a set guaranteed schedule so effectively pay salary.
I don't have one of those jobs, so no work, no money.
Got up this morning and we were actually DOWN an inch according to the picnic table. But still getting snow, up to another 4 inches through the night before sunny and warm tomorrow.I would assume that he's not getting a paycheck for missed days. Freeze warning overnight, while not too far north, up to 3 feet of snow. Appreciate @ShadyStump sending some moisture our way. We've been getting good, soft, soaking rains periodically since yesterday afternoon. Hoping he and the rest of the central Rockies folks fare well through this blizzard. It looks to be pretty intense.
Much of New Mexico still has leaves on the deciduous trees, so it's likely there will be a lot of broken branches and trees with the combined weight of foliage and snow. Already 10s of thousands without power. Las Vegas, NM had recorded 24" as of yesterday afternoon. Annual snowfall averages 22".
I don't talk to my picnic table, because it's always laughing at me, and the toaster is much wiser.Got up this morning and we were actually DOWN an inch according to the picnic table. But still getting snow, up to another 4 inches through the night before sunny and warm tomorrow.
Only so many dishes and so much laundry to wash, so I'm getting a bit antsy around the house. Might have to bake some cinnamon rolls or something.
I'm sure we can all relate. When you get exactly what you ask for, buuuut...This is after .5 in of rain mid week. Predicting rain for Sunday (.8 in) most in 6 months.
Would happen on the long weekend I rented a ditchwitch for
Yeah, so far I'm betting on a cold winter in the Continental states. We usually sit in the 70sF until January except for when the weather turns, but it's been 50s mostly since the snow last week, freezing almost every night. We are having a frost warning here in San Diego county. Damn, we usually we don't get that until January. Our high today was 68, and we are freezing!!!
I get the feeling it's going to be an epic ski year. That long storm we got a couple weeks ago left enough in the high country that many slopes opened already, about a month earlier than they usually hope for.View attachment 574715
Up to a foot of snow at the skii resorts.
They lied. I came back to my car after work to find an inch of frozen icesnow on the windshield.Today was the first day with snow here.
Had about an inch at the peek, but temps are just over freezing so..
Pretty much all is gone now. Cold nights and more wet weather. However the wind-free days continue. Quite rare this time of year.
