Pseudocydonia, Chinese Quince

What a great composition. I think you really nailed the pot/tree combo! Color, shape and feet all really work for the tree.

I've been looking for a nice Chinese Quince prebonsai to work ever since I saw one a friend of mine has. The bark always puts me in mind of a Sycamore which has always been one of my favorite natives. Thanks for sharing on your progression threads Brian, I always enjoy the updates.

Very nice.

Do you ever have trouble with them refusing to drop leaves at the end of the year? I've let mine get a few shocks into the 20s, but while the leaves started turning burgundy, they aren't really looking like they're going to fall on their own.

They've always grown healthily but always funky about deciding to drop leaves.

Yes, they are about the last to drop leaves in the winter, but it hasn’t really been a problem. Eventually they fall off, and a couple weeks later, they’re wanting to grow again it seems.

Thanks. As cool as they are, it’s strange they’re not more common. They’re definitely slow to trunk up, which might have something to do with it.

Exactly my experience! Was worried they weren’t getting enough winter rest
