Princess Persimmons for sale?

All those camelia listings are the same item, just a different historic listing. princess persimmon=diamond leaf persimmon, that's just a common name for it.
Ok nice, thank you for the clarification! Confused as to why they would have two separate listings for the same plant.

Might want to try this source too. Looks like they have a number of sizes.

I looked at the offering. Here common names are leading to confusion. Edible Landscape is offering Diospyros lotus for sale, which is the European species, usually called "the date-plum". That's not Diospyros rhombifolia, which is the princess persimmon we know and love. Easy to get common names confused. Always check the botanical name.

Hey, thank you for the input Leo! Where are you located in Northeast Illinois? Im in Villa Park Myself.

My confusion really came from camellia forest having two listings with the same exact scientific name although one listed to be “diamond leaf”. Thought that maybe was a similar but different phenotype. Seems like it was just an old listing they decided to keep for some reason.

I don't have any for sale right now. I'm far enough into the waiting process to find out which ones are female that I've just decided to hold onto them for a few more years. I *think* the ones I have are 4 years old. I'm hoping to start some more from seed next year.
Do you have any "known" males?

I received the plant today from Camellia Forest. It is looking very nice and well established…covered in buds and ready for springtime!

Hey, thank you for the input Leo! Where are you located in Northeast Illinois? Im in Villa Park Myself.

Villa Park, I know the area, I visit Hausermann's Orchids just north of there a few times a year, for orchids and seedling fir bark for orchid and bonsai potting mixes.

Yeah, I live in the Winthrop Harbor/Zion/Beach Park area. Illinois Beach State Park is within a mile or so of my home, great place for walks, swimming and bicycling.

Of course we all have to be vague about our locations, as sadly theft is a problem. Nobody should post their address publicly. Bonsai Thefts happen too often.

I have purchased from Camelia Forest in the past and have been happy with their service and quality. They are a landscape tree orientated nursery, so I don't expect well developed bonsai from them. This princess persimmon is healthy and will be easy enough to develop over the next 5 to 10 years that you will be happy with it. Nice. Spring is coming, I should look through their catalog.

Very cool and I appreciate the tip… Probably should’ve said I’m in the western suburbs although Villa Park is a decent size town. Sad that theft is so common. The real surprise on this princess persimmon came from beneath the soil line…really nice & interesting curvature that deviates from the apparent upright form in the pictures. Highly recommend Camellia. Prompt shipment, healthy plant, no issues.

I received mine from Camelia, buds started opening Sunday. I was planning on repotting, but I think I will wait till next year.

I’ve been wanting to check out that orchid farm for years… Have to make time to get over there soon.
Tell them I sent you. "Leo the fat guy from the Illinois Orchid Society". It won't get you a discount, but it might get me a discount the next time I come in. LOL. They are now in their 4th and 5th generation of the same family running the same business. 40,000 square feet of greenhouses, all orchids, it really is something to see. About 1/4 is for potted orchid sales for home growers and mail order, 3/4 is for commercial cut flowers for the florist industry.
