Thinking of buying a window blind. But pondering width...I have a long area in which to hang...but don't wish to go all out crazy in size...thinking of a budget friendly size that I won't regret.

you don't really need much width over the tree if you use a longer (more zoomed in) lens.
What do you use to take the pics of your trees?
If you use a cell phone (wide angled lens) you will need something a bit larger.

I do have a camera...but, quick shots I mostly use my phone for easy uploading. (Lazy I know) thanks...yes, something a bit wider then. For those lazy day sloth mode.

I purchased two twin-sized bed sheets, one black and one white, and use these. I find that I like using the black more that the white, the white messes with the exposure/ white balance on my camera it I don't have the lighting just right, the black doesn't seem to do this. Or you could just get a gray one, that color looks good as a background, too. Get the higher thread count ones, the cheapos don't look good, especially the black (light will show through the thinner ones). You can build (or your husband, I heard he is kinda handy ;)) a stand to hang them on out of pvc, just don't use glue on it (friction fit is enough to support the sheet) and you can disassemble it for storage. This will get you going so you can figure out the camera and the nuances with photographing trees, then if you want you can purchase a professional set up.

do you use the fitted sheets and stretch them on a frame?

Before you hang anything check that you can back away far enough or zoom properly from the plant(s)to get a good full view... For example most anything here I don't have enough room to photo properly indoors.

I have two shades, one is white, and one black, they hang right in front of one another, so I can get either background without moving the plant.

No, I use my camera, but it's just a medium point and shoot. I would guess 3' wide? As wide as a double glass sliding door.

If you have a Samsung phone you can use the camera in pro mode.
It's got a killer camera and cool options.
Mines a GalaxyS7. Every one made after mine probably has the same if not better camera.
They all have low light capability too.

I have a Galaxy...not sure if a 6 or 7. Will check the settings in camera mode. Thanks.
