I see some amazing pictures of trees here and on the web... can u please share you setup:
Camera, lenses, assume external flashes and diffusers/ reflectors for the added shadows from trees, background....
Any other tips, pictures of ur photo taking setups and trees photos examples would be great.
Thanks

I use a black piece of multiplex that I place in the shade. Tree in front of it in the sun, if sunny. Focus on the tree, if you have exposure points, use the exposure meter to get the light intensity off the tree rather than the background. I usually underexpose one stop. No flashes or mirrors. I do have an Canon SLR camera that I use when taking update shots. But I find the endresult when taken with my cellphone is not much different.

I try to use very short shutterspeeds, as I do all shots outside: Wind = movement. This means I loose depth of focus, which is not per se a bad thin (Most of the time I like it)

I use a longer focal length lens as you get less distortion. However I have found that working with a 200mm lens is inpractical, space-wise for the place I normally take my shots. So I find myself backed into my fig-tree with a 70mm lens most of the time.

I use lightroom as archive & post-production. Here one can fine-tune darks and exposed areas. And trim to ensure the edges of the plywood are not in view.

I use a Canon Rebel T6 EOS, with an 18-55mm lens and a 75-250mm lens for long shots.

A post in a thread here about some outside shots:

Reckon @grouper52 has a thread or resource on the subject.

Walter Pall has good tricks too.

Will check those out. Was actually Walter Pall trees pictures that gor me wondering if people get a pro photographer for those photoshoots.

One of the best bonsai stories I've ever heard is the dance with the sun Walter does to get great photos.
