I found one of those in Hawaii. I am not sure the species sadly. My research couldn't dig it up.

I called it f*cking Gnarly, but apparently it's an Australian Tea Tree.
Considered a shrub or multi-trunk tree, the Leptospermum laevigatum has what’s called a prostrate growth habit whereby the twisty trunks grow nearly horizontal along the ground and occasionally set down roots where the limb sits. The low, wide canopy of this particular tree (which Kim says was likely planted by Balboa Park’s godmother Kate Sessions around 1906) provides a nook to escape the world for a while.

Two different ones.
Humans can't keep their hands to themselves so a barrier was placed in front of this one, or I would've disposed of the bottles some troglodyte tossed inside.

I appreciate the assit, but it is almost certainly not a strawberry tree (one of the many called that) or any of the others tangently related to that name.

Is it Conocarpus erectus L. - Button Mangrove? They have those in Hawaii.

If you have a close up of leaves? Every thing I see still looks more and more like an old strawberry tree (Arbutus) to me.

Yes looks like a nice old Arbutus (strawberry tree)! They form really interesting trunks as they age.
